Why is it that @SouthwestAir baggage staff at @BWI_Airport are routinely the rudest SW employees there are? Is their job really to make the whole travel experience as miserable as possible?

@tiffanyyy_wang To be fair … I was taken as Vietnamese once … by a woman who told me “yur accent is just like my neighbor’s that I’m teachin’ Ann-glish to.”

This also goes for if you correctly guess my ethnicity (bc you assume everyone is Chinese and I am Chinese but I’m also I’m taiwanese so you’re still wrong)

Dear house officers and occasional attendings: please stop saying “pee” to the pt when you mean “urinate.” I know what you are doing; you are concerned that their health literacy is low and that they may not know what “urinate” means. But … try it. I think you’ll be surprised.

Well, my patient officially fired me. I’ve known her for 10 years. Gave her perfect advice. But her Apple Watch (53 bpm on Amio + Coreg) said she needed a pacemaker. I wanted to wait to let the medicines wear off and continue to watch telemetry. Bad advice, apparently.

@callie_mt I know there are those that will disagree - but yes - my expectation would be that if one felt wrong about the “study” one would find a graceful way to bow out. I don’t necessarily expect that they stand up and openly object say (but I know many a MS that would).

I do not know the politics of Mr. Reeves (it should not matter) but his tone and message was spot on. The counterfactual is unknowable but such an explanatory humble message would have been so much better than what we had/have. Americans are not stupid. #COVID19
