Smoking is cool, it has always been cool and will always be cool. You shouldn't smoke because it's absolutely horrible for you. It's why we all quit, but it doesn't change the fact that it's cool. Caveat: It is extremely uncool if you're fat. It just makes you look like an out of control animal with no self control and you look like you're going to drop dead. Gotta pick one poison at the most.

The worst non-fatal injury I ever saw was from a high-powered paint sprayer. I was at the entrance of the warehouse when they took the guy out. My friend who worked there said the victim had accidentally pressed the sprayer to his thigh, and his leg immediately ballooned up with paint injected into his body. The ambulance arrived 15 minutes later and I never found out what happened to him, but it could not have been good. I had previously seen a man who'd injected his leg with a high-powered industrial air blaster. In his case there was blood everywhere, because his outer skin basically exploded. But I'm told that the paint injury was going to be way worse.

So you mean to tell me, an airplane can go right through the World Trade Center that had steel structure beams of 4 inch plate every 40” using 12 different grades of steel with a yield strength of 100,000 psi but if the same plane were to run into a firetruck on a runway the plane is completely destroyed. @StatisticUrban I wore poplin, seersucker and linen all through the summers up through the 90s and 00s, and would still wear them if I were going to an office everyday. Nothing cooler/sexier for men than a rumpled linen suit in 95 degree heat, 80% humidity.

It feels truly insane to me that people used to wear full-length cotton suit jackets and dress pants at all times. This is Manhattan in the height of summer, late June 1936! And these are factory workers!

I agree that Trump’s send off to Mueller was crass and unnecessary. But I defy you to think of the worst person in your life and say something good when they die. A husband who hurt you. An ex that lied about you. A business partner that ruined you. A fender-bender that tried to sue you into oblivion. It’s easy to say “you shouldn’t” when you’ve never been. Imagine you worked your way to the highest position on Earth and then a man knowing it was all BS spent 12 months summoning you and everyone you know before prosecution trying to create a truth that’s all lies. So yeah, putting myself in his shoes, I’d find grace a little hard to pin point.
