@RichHalsall24 @Damon98_ Exit velocity doesnt matter that much if you hit it with a -20 degree launch angle. It was a routine ground out (or DP if there was less than 2 outs)
English

@Damon98_ 106.5 off the bat doesn’t help the argument.
George’s flailing at 3 straight balls is the issue here.
Also the ump nodding strike 2 by George would of been a strike if he took it clearly got in his head

@ShiDavidi So the Jays save $600k but at the expense of helping the richest team and heavy WS favorite. Not sure its worth it, even if penny pinching.
English

Cash going both ways in this deal might sound odd, so here’s the math:
▪️ League minimum rest of the way is ~$550K;
▪️Dodgers paying ~$600K for Lauer; Blue Jays sending ~$2.5 million to cover pro-rated remainder of Lauer’s salary;
▪️There won’t be a PTBNL; deal guaranteed Blue Jays a taker for pro-rated portion of league minimum

OFFICIAL: We've traded LHP Eric Lauer and cash considerations to the Dodgers in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

@Yesavage2HOF Hate to break it to you, Springer is already injured again :(

In the 2000s, there have been 4,461 individual MLB seasons with at least 450 plate appearances. Last year, Kiner-Falefa's season ranked 4,215th.
Jeff Passan@JeffPassan
Infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa and the Boston Red Sox are in agreement on a one-year contract, sources tell ESPN.

@AnimalBasedball @udontknowball14 @TalkinBaseball_ @BNightengale Thats not how it works. They are "Luxury Taxed" at his AAV. The only benefit of a "signing bonus" is possible legal taxes Tucker or The Dodgers have to pay for income taxes.
English

Kyle Tucker will be paid a $1 million salary in 2026 with a $64 million signing bonus

@DustinNosler We obviously dont know for sure because there is no reality in which the Dodgers arent in LA, but you cant say its not just the appeal of LA Lights and Hollywood Lifestyle (and being close to Japan) when that is at least 90% the reason Yamamoto, Ohtani and Roki went there.
English

@ArashMadani If I wake up tomorrow, and Bo is not signed, I will burn Skydome to the ground.
English

@President_Bass2 @FAmmiranteTFJ has nothing to do with coaching or farm system. But it does have a lot to do with location. All things equal they will take LA every time. So no other team can technically pay the same money to keep these players.
English

@FAmmiranteTFJ All of the teams listed could’ve paid the same money to keep those players. - Yamamoto had offers similar, but chose there. I’m a Braves fan, but better coaching, farm system and location led to this.
English

Ohtani: free agent
Tucker: free agent
Betts: trade
Freeman: free agent
Yamamoto: free agent
Glasnow: free agent
Snell: free agent
Diaz: free agent
Sick league

@FAmmiranteTFJ The Dodgers have a clubhouse that even your best man can’t sway you from. They are an elite organization. A true winner.

@RealNeil416 @JoshuaHowsam Well Gimenez shouldnt be an everyday player. Ernie is just Gimenez but not as bad.
English

@JoshuaHowsam The only reason Ernie can be considered not a question mark is because he’s not that good. Journeyman utility guy who’s never had a full season OPS+ over 95. He probably shouldn’t be an everyday player in a lineup that also includes Giminez.
English

@dansaint5879 @Travis_Sawchik This is false, its not about money much of the time. Look at Roki/Ohtani/Yamamoto. Tucker was about the money though, cant blame him there.
English

@Travis_Sawchik any team can do the exact same thing. Any owner can afford any player or players they want. I'm not even a Dodger fan.
English

@JGoldberg12 "On paper" worse than last year's team as you replace Bo with the unproven Kazuma and are locking in Ernie and Gimenez everyday. We also have to take into account a regression from Springer I think and although you could make it up with a decent season from tony, a bit scary.
English

@HowBoutDemMets @jayhaykid Fair enough. The point I think the original tweeter was making is it is a very low pressure hypothetical situation. There are several "superstars" on the team and they have won 2 straight WS. Just bonus stats at this point for the Dodgers when they add, nothing else is needed.
English

@dk_fire @jayhaykid Look I’m a Mets fan, and no one loves Diaz more than me, but any closer shouldn’t be mentioned with Tucker. In terms of the others you say, I’m not mad at your assessment, I just disagree. If there was a league wide draft, I think Tucker gets taken in the top 10. Thats my point.
English

@HowBoutDemMets @jayhaykid You are conflating two different things. Star players and 2025 WAR.
Freeman, Betts, Ohtani and Yoshi are all 100% ahead of Tucker in Star power (and not impossibly 2026 WAR). Then you have Diaz and Snell who you could argue Star power/ 2026 WAR. Then the rest of the All-Stars.
English

@jayhaykid I would love to hear the 5 or 6 players, they think are better than Tucker on the Dodgers
English

@UmpScorecards This has been bugging me for a while. Why are the Blue Jays red when every other team has their name in their team's color?
English

Umpire: Vic Carapazza
Final: Blue Jays 6, Mariners 3

@SNETCampbell I noticed a decent number of hits that looked like they would be doubles for most players, are just singles for the Jays. I dont know if they are not getting out of the box or just dont want to risk going for 2nd. Something to keep an eye on.
English

@dannychau The Thad was an all timer (Bad), the Kelly trade was actually for Ochai.
English

@EvanDrellich Its never been a Dodger issue, they never did anything wrong. Its like the Lakers. They didnt do anything wrong getting Luka. There is a CBA problem and probably an IFA problem given its not an even playing field for the Asian market, but its not the Dodgers fault.
English

Rob Manfred does not think the Los Angeles Dodgers are bad for baseball.
“No,” Manfred said. “I don’t agree with that. The Dodgers are a really well-run, successful organization. Everything that they do and have done is consistent with our rules."
