Investing in Real Estate isn't glamorous as most people think:
1. Rental income will give you a yield of 4-8% while even bonds can give you 12-14%
2. Occupancy levels will not always be 100%
3. Maintenence costs & property taxes.
4. Rent isn't hiked with increasing inflation.

Shouldn't CMA have equally taken issue with the timing of GOK announcing partial divestiture from Safaricom Plc right after the pricing supplement was out & subscriptions were underway? But since the watchdog cannot watch itself, shouldn't the relevant National Assembly committee summon the Authority & interrogate the two corporate actions? Good luck to whoever comes to market next with a corporate bond issuance.

How come the chief anarchist from CNN Larry Madowo is NOT in Tanzania? Why hasn't he been in Cameroon? We never saw him in DR Congo and Sudan. He finds comfort in covering petty issues in Kenya, a much far progressive and democratic country.

Like any human being, he had his fair share of the good, to the bad & the ugly.
Regardless of where your position is about his legacy, one way we can honor it as a country is to commit to a free and fair election in 2027 and beyond.

While I definitely do not agree with some of his political & policy decisions in the recent past, one cannot dispute his imprint on Kenya's political psyche. Without doubt, he was the most consequential African politician of the last 30 years possibly on par with Nelson Mandela.
