An observation I feel is known but needs to be said again; Following the behavior of stress and urgency; the farmers that push to get a crop in the ground when the ground is unfit are the ones that are living a lifestyle they can’t afford 🤔

Why is conservation adoption is so slow in agriculture? It’s not ignorance. It’s economics…& time. A lot of farmers aren’t just farming anymore; they’re working off-farm, running side hustles, doing whatever it takes to stay afloat. Conservation takes management. It takes attention. It takes time most don’t have. And then there’s cost. Strip-till. Cover crops. Precision nutrients. None of it is free to try, and none of it is simple to manage. So what happens? Guys go back to what works: One pass. One plan. Fewer variables. Not because they don’t care… but because they assume they can’t afford not to. Every farmer wants to leave the land better. But first, they have to not just survive, they have to thrive.

The mentality of More = More in crop inputs needs to be done. There is too much research and real life instances proving that is not the case. It’s 2026, time to get with it. #balance #soilhealth

Read about using compost on crop fields. The benefits list is long. Then add lime or gypsum to it. That is one heck of a product. I make that product.

A Thought; participation in the negative. As farmers we are just consumers as well, we have the power to buy less of or not buy at all overpriced inputs and/or government programs. They do not care if we whine about it, because guess what, majority will still participate.

Guys your biggest argument for the glyphoagro experience is “yeah but yields will drop” like there isn’t too many bushes and prices are good 🤣 at least 7/10 years it all has to be subsided by the taxpayers and there were more farms, smaller equipment, and more families in/around town before all the “progress”. Think about the big picture for a minute - really think about it. Would the world end if it wasn’t used in 10 years?

@dleiding2 View it as a diagnostician. Identity the various threads and spectrums, and categorize the messaging. Kind of like using the DSM to find out what mental illness you’re observing.

Anybody else at the point with agronomy in that all the buzz words mean nothing anymore and you refuse to participate in conversations unless it is about handling the big picture. Understanding soil and plant science has many different meanings right now it’s frustrating

Who knew trying to compost manure in some parts of this country would be such a struggle. It’s fascinating

The last two years for me in business have been a fight. Internally bad things happened, I made enemies for doing the right thing and help make hard decisions. The grind continues to rebuild, but the support I’ve had along the way is unmatched. Good always wins! #agretail

@gwiesefarms From what some statistics say as far as farm living expenses, my pick would be the winter vaca 🌴🤷🏻‍♀️

Does your family spend more time planning your winter vacation or your farm budget? One cost $15k and the other cost $1.5M.

A refusal to change your mentality when opportunities arise is a refusal to move forward and set up for success! And 2026 is giving the American farmer a massive opportunity to steer the ship another way for their farming practices. But we don’t wanna talk about that 😏

It seems like a good time to put our social media scrolling aside and look around and remind ourselves of what we have in front of us. That is the point in times like these.

@SoybeansRus Exactly. There are others that are more willing to listen and strategize for economics and efficiency for their operation. Sometimes we care too much about everybody

Sitting with a Good friend of mine this morning talking about Ag. He said the #1 question he gets asked 5x a day is how do guys do it…. The guys that ask these questions are guys that are comfortable staying with one company buying their inputs and paying $100 a acre for their Soybean Chemical and $76 a acre for their Corn chemical and having the retailers do everything for them. There comes a time where you just can’t help guys that aren’t willing to leave the nest.
