It's not only generic items but fewer items and smaller sizes, Kevin. The true comparison would be the identical number, brands, and sizes of items as last year's package. For those of us who actually shop at Walmart, prices are significantly higher this year.

Hassett: "On one of the Sunday shows, the anchor criticized the fact that Walmart said the Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper by about $10. And then he said, 'Oh yeah, but they substituted generic stuff,' as if having a generic something is a crime for ordinary folks! It shows how out of touch these people are."

"Common sense"? Nonsense, @SecDuffy. You want people being nice? Then treat them with respect. Refunds when their travel plans are screwed up. No more excess fees for baggage or carry on bags. Take the consumers' side instead of corporations. Should we just smile more?
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

FOX: During the Biden administration, there was a push for greater passenger rights. They wanted to have airlines compensate people if there was a delay or cancelation. But that is something the Trump admin has said they don't want to do DUFFY: We took a more common sense approach to it

People dress to be comfortable when they know they may be stuck in an airport or on a long flight, @SecDuffy. Civility isn't as important as safety or timeliness when it comes to air travel. The rudest people I've encountered while flying were all in suits and ties.

Trump's Transportation Secretary on how to improve air travel: "People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly... We want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season, help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

Oh, @LinkedIn, I'm never clicking on these suggestions. Aside from the obvious reasons, they're only offering $35-45 an hour yet expect you to work on site in NYC? No wonder that show isn't funny.

Here's the same election by population density for comparison.

I was wrong, @speakerjohnson. Maybe you really don't know anything. Georgia flipped two seats blue by double digit margins, seats that have been GOP for around 30 years. And look at notable blue state Mississippi here, breaking the GOP supermajority. mississippifreepress.org/mississippi-de…

Johnson: What happened last night was blue states and blue cities voted blue. We all saw that coming. No one should read too much into last night's election results. Off year elections are not indicative of what's to come. That’s what history teaches us.

it's really time for journalists to start asking Mike Johnson meta questions during these pressers "Speaker Johnson, on 5 different occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about major news events with serious implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker of the House to be so woefully uninformed?"

Playing games, @SpeakerJohnson? Really? Because you're so fair minded and all? Stop playing games and swear in Rep. Grijalva. If the Epstein Files are full of Democrats, why so afraid? SNAP benefits should not be a pawn in some game. Go ask your god what He'd say about that.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

BASH: Even Josh Hawley says you should move money around to feed people. Why not consider that? MIKE JOHNSON: Because if you deviate from the goal of reopening the entire government, Chuck Schumer and the radicals over there will continue to play games. If you do just part of this, it will reduce the pressure for them to do all of it
