Last Easter at 330 am exactly a kidney stone decided to leave my kidney. We called an ambulance and before the labs came back in the ER it had already moved out. However, I was told I had pneumonia and they were keeping me to treat me for that. Also my pulse ox kept dropping into the 70's. One of the x-rays had picked up a slice of the bottom of my lung and it did not look right. This was odd because I did not feel like I had pneumonia. 3 days later I was discharged with basically a death sentence and oxygen 24/7. They said I had a rare lung disease which had progressed quite a bit. What a whirlwind of a year. Eventually the term lung transplant was brought up. We went through that process which was a very difficult challenge. Multiple trips to cleveland clinic and countless tests all while the possibility of being denied loomed. Eventually I was accepted and listed. Getting the call and driving to Cleveland seemed surreal. The day before my surgery, my blood draws were completely black. The next day, December 6 I had a 12 hour surgery. I dont remember alot from the first couple weeks and honestly, that is probably a good thing. It was a very very difficult process. But that is behind me now and what is in front of me is an absolute miracle. It took until January 16th for my blood to return to red. Every single night before I go to bed I pray for my donor and their family. I wonder who they were and am so grateful for this precious gift. I would like to thank every single person and hand who has brought me to this moment. From my donor, their family, my caregivers, my family and friends, those that stayed in touch with me, those that sent cards and texts, the uncountable number of doctors, nurses, assistants, food services and housekeeping at Cleveland Clinic, those that donated financially, every hand that was involved in anyway that led me here including all the strangers that have prayed for me. You have all contributed to a miracle. I will be forever grateful ❤️🙏🫁 nytimes.com/2026/04/04/hea…

OF TRASH AND TRASH POLITICIANS The landfills of the Finger Lakes region of New York accept more solid waste than any other place in the United States. This is where New York City dumps its trash. New York City and Long Island and New Jersey and Connecticut and Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. In a natural paradise blessed by God with pristine streams and lakes, agricultural valleys, hills sacred to the memory of Native Americans, and farms tended by Amishmen and families who've been here since shortly after the Revolution. But this isn't about the rape of our land, it's about the prostitution of our democracy. Thanks to some swine in the backwaters of the political swamp, the landfill is about to have its own member of the state legislature. On Wednesday, small-time Republican Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan announced -- at nearly last minute possible under election law -- that he was abandoning his re-election bid. He said it was due to "recent health challenges." And that might be true. But what came next wasn't about health, it was about the business-as-usual politics that leaves people disgusted and disenchanted. Instead of allowing a "committee on vacancies" to interview substitute candidates, as would typically be the process, Gallahan picked his replacement and closed the door to anyone else. "Assemblyman Gallahan has spoken to all persons on the Vacancy Committee," an internal party communication said, "and he has at his request requested the support and endorsement of Mark Benjamin. He will be endorsing and supporting him. We are not holding interviews as it appears the vacancy committee who was contacted by Assemblyman Gallahan will be moving forward with Assemblyman Gallahans (sic) wishes and recommendations." Which gets us back to New York City trash. Mark Benjamin is the community relations director of the Seneca Meadows Landfill. Six thousand tons a day, two million tons a year, owned by a $50 billion trash conglomerate. And he just got handed an Assembly nomination in a district where he will have a 55-45 enrollment advantage. At a time when the landfill -- slated to have closed at the end of last year -- is asking the state to be made 47 acres larger and 70 feet higher and to have its operational life extended by 15 years. Which is, no doubt, all a coincidence. Or just one more example of the moral corruption that typifies the politics of New York state. A massive out-of-state company has hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, all-powerful New York City politicians need someplace to put their trash, a backwater backroom deal gets made, and the people of the Finger Lakes takes it in the shorts. Just like always. A region that seethes under the burden of other people's trash, where a literal stench hangs in the air, where the trains and the trucks of incoming garbage run like a never-ending river of filth, where the locals hate and resent the landfill and everything about it, the representative in Albany will be the mouthpiece for the dump. It's like hiring your mother's pimp to safeguard her virtue. And that's the way it is. There's nothing we can do about the desecration of our homeland. Because those of us who live here have no money, have no power, and soon we won't even be able to pretend we have a voice in state government.

You’re gonna throw your phone after you see this story. For 125 years, a group of Catholic nuns in New York have run a FREE hospice called Rosary Hill Home. They take care of poor people dying from cancer no charge, ever. Just pure Christian charity. Then Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a law a few years ago that forces EVERY nursing home to use preferred pronouns, house patients by gender identity (not biological sex), and let people into opposite-sex bathrooms and spaces. The nuns said: “We treat everyone with dignity… but we can’t do that. It goes against our Catholic faith.” So New York is now threatening them with $5,000–$10,000 fines per violation, loss of their license, and jail time. These sisters who’ve spent their whole lives caring for the dying are being told: obey the gender rules or shut down. Unbelievable.

@WKBW @grok how much did the Buffalo, NY Main Street subway that kinda goes nowhere cost? What is the equivalent in today's dollars? Side note, others and I personally watched Main Street die after it was installed.

@grok @markpoloncarz @grok we stopped going into this neighborhood 20 years ago when 2 men ran past us chasing each other with guns in broad daylight. It has since deteriorated substantially. Is this the best place to spend $45 million for a market renovation?

Potholes can't be permanently eradicated—freeze-thaw cycles, water, and heavy traffic wear down even the best pavement over time. Better roads are possible: concrete or polymer-modified asphalt, strong bases, and good drainage last 2-3x longer than standard fixes. Taxpayer funds involve trade-offs—road repairs often deliver quick ROI (reduced vehicle damage, fewer accidents), while projects like market renovations aim at economic growth. Local priorities decide the balance.

Our Erie County Department of Public Works crews are out in earnest repairing potholes now that the hot asphalt plants have opened. As always, if you see a work crew while driving, please slow down and follow flagger orders.
Erie County DPW@ErieCountyDPW

Hot mix season is officially here 🔥 With asphalt plants back open, our crews are using hot patch for smoother, longer-lasting road repairs across the county. You’ll see crews out countywide making these improvements as we tackle potholes left behind by a tough WNY winter. 🚧

She was Desirée Mariottini, an Italian girl. She was only 16 years old. Desirée went to an abandoned building looking for a tablet her mother had given her, which had been stolen a few days earlier. There she was approached by Yusef Salia, an African immigrant, who gave her a lethal dose of drugs, a mix of methadone, crack, heroin and psychotropic substances. Then, while she was dazed, he took her by the hand and dragged her into a container. He threw her on a filthy mattress covered in garbage. That’s where the horror began. She was stripped and repeatedly raped for hours by African immigrants, taking turns. At first she tried to resist, the investigators noted the signs of struggle on her body. Forensic experts confirmed that “the laceration of the hymen occurred shortly before her death.” In other words, the minor lost her virginity as a result of the violence she suffered. Even when she lost consciousness and was dying, they continued. When they were done with her, they abandoned her there naked and left. They did nothing to help her. They deliberately left her there to die. “Better her dead than us in prison”, this is the phrase that, according to some witnesses, three of the four monsters uttered. They were sentenced as follows: - Mamadou Gara, illegal African immigrant: life imprisonment - Yusef Salia, African immigrant: life imprisonment - Brian Minteh, illegal African immigrant: 24 years and 6 months - Alinno Chima, African immigrant: 27 years A witness reported that the rapists were not 4 but at least 7, all African immigrants. Three were never found.

🔥🚨 Military mom of a Soldier that is currently deployed GOES OFF on people who were celebrating the bounty placed on the missing pilot “How dare you and people like you sleep under the blanket of freedom provided by people like my son who are serving our country or have served our country all over the world, away from their families, protecting our freedoms, so that you can run your mouth and be an asshole like you are? I would say go to hell, but you’re already headed there.”

I was born in 1961. Our cartoons didn't try to turn us gay. Movies and TV shows didn't try to depress us about our world or our lives. Actors didn't tell us who to vote for. We had smart comedy and nobody told us what jokes were allowed. We never heard the n-word or f-bombs coming out of our radios. There were no TRANS kids. Nobody told you their pronouns. Nobody had food allergies. I could go to school without getting jumped. We played outside until the streetlights came on. We had family dinners with no phones at the table. Families didn't break up over politics. A man was a man, a woman was a woman, and nobody pretended otherwise. Nobody lost their job or their home or their family or their friends for merely stating biological facts. We respected cops, teachers, and the flag. We celebrated CHRISTMAS, not Kwanzaa. Nobody was "offended" by EVERYTHING. If anybody WAS offended by something, it was THEIR PERSONAL PROBLEM, not a national crisis. And here's the good part: Women hadn't willfully destroyed every aspect of entertainment - from movies to tv to video games. Call me old-fashioned and outdated - but I really miss those days. I'd give anything to go back to BEFORE 24/7 cable news, social media doom-scrolling, and algorithm rage machines. So God, if you're listening, this is my prayer: Take us back to the good old days of American civility, PLEASE. AMEN.

From a sample of Sen. Gillibrand's 2026 tweets (January through early April), roughly 70-80% focus on President Trump or his policies—90%+ in recent weeks, closer to 60% in January. Exact total isn't available via public search tools, as they sample rather than archive every post.

🚨 INCREDIBLE! This is a stunning drone light show depicting Jesus on the Cross (the Crucifixion) It was created as part of the “Jesus Jesus Jesus” Holy Week event by The Church on Master’s Road in Manvel, Texas. Thousands of synchronized drones lit up the night sky during Good Friday to tell the Gospel story in a powerful, modern way. Absolutely breathtaking!
