Please solve the SSO issues with web browsers @garmin. I have to log in twice a day. It's ridiculous. Are you a bank or wellness web-app? On my phone with the app I logged in once, two years ago and it works normally. Why can't you let users decide "my cookie is valid forever"?

I never thought it will come to this. Currently, from power user's perspective. It's cheaper to buy a #M4 (really fast SBC) machine with #macOS, than #PC with #BSD/ #Linux (cause let's be real, #Windows is irrelevant). Fastest CPU, most stable unified GUI for lesser price -_-

The GNOME Desktop Environment has made some truly bizarre moves over the last few years. Technical, marketing, and management. Just pure insanity. - Restricting to only SystemD based systems. - Restricting to only Wayland based systems. - Hiring a “shaman” to be their Executive Director. - Making an official “Mention Lunduke and you’re banned for life” policy. - Harboring and defending registered sex offenders. - Force installing Trans Pride propaganda and artwork on users computer. - Attacking Jews, on their official website, as “leeches” and “baby killers”. - Official spokespersons defacing wiki pages of other projects with “wrong” political views. One horrific decision, and action, after another from the most widely used Linux Desktop Environment.
XLibre@XLibreDev

#GNOME 50 is scheduled for Mar 18, completely removing #X11 support. The once widespread DE is now systemd-only and Wayland-only. If you doubt that "GNOME knows best" and like to stay on X11, we have a section "Desktop Environments" on our "Are We XLibre Yet?" page. #desktop-environments" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/X11Libre/xserv…

18-year-old mathematician Antoni Łuczak from Warsaw has won the EU Contest for Young Scientists. This victory marks the third consecutive Polish win at EUCYS. Poland has a proud tradition of brilliant mathematicians, including Stefan Banach, one of the most influential minds of the 20th century, and the Enigma codebreakers. Today, on the International Day of Mathematics, it is the perfect moment to celebrate this tradition of Polish mathematical excellence.

@LundukeJournal This proves how mindless are people that introduce new laws. Absolute lack of any sense of reality or knowledge about how operating systems work. Unsure if it's hilarious or just plain fucking stupid.

5 days until Brazil’s Age Verification law takes full effect. Brazil is threatening $9.5 Million (USD) fines for every individual violation (every user which is not forced to do age verification on an Operating System). According to the law, this applies to not only Windows and macOS… but Linux, FreeBSD, and other open source systems as well. As of today (5 days from the deadline) no open source systems are in compliance with this law in Brazil. Will Brazil enforce this law next week?

Brazil Law: All OS's Have 13 Days to Add Age Verification A new law, in Brazil, requires age verification on all Operating Systems (including Linux & Windows) by March 17th. Plus a rundown on similar laws in California, Colorado, and New York.

C has no classes? Hold my pointer. 😁 Simulating OOP with structs + funcs: init, add, print. Compiles to beast mode. Who's still crying for Rust?

Did you know that you can literally use Elm on the backend? We took a FRONTEND language. Gave it to a C++ lad. Said: "You are functional now.” Two hours later, he’s shipping production pipelines. Elm is basically bubble wrap. Pop pop! Full story: noti-noti.com/post/0 #elmlang

@LundukeJournal One thing never changes: It's never too late to get back to the times, when we gave kids watches not a computers and keyboards.

Xorg Officially Abandons "Master" Branch for "Main", Throws Away 2 Years of Code The newly created "Main" branch re-bases the open source X11 server on code from February of 2024, specifically to avoid code written by the creator of XLibre (the increasingly successful Xorg fork).

.@apple Spotlight doesn't work since the recent macOS… No System Settings filtering works. At all. In 26 even the configuration for Spotlight doesn't work. It never loads here:

Everything in macOS 26 UI is terribly wrong @Apple. If this is your path of development, you're on a downfall. Everything about this "new look" is broken and in contradiction to Apple design for many decades before. Icons? Broken. No Reduce Transparency? Menu broken ………

Why can't I just see the contents of pkg.freebsd.org/FreeBSD:14:amd… #FreeBSD? I'd like to download realtek-re-kmod pkg for my local system, that lacks the internet (because DOH it's the Network driver). Why it's SO HARD to just fetch the latest bin package for my system @freebsd?

So I have to: 1. Download data.pkg, rename it to data.tar.xz, 2. unpack it. get the 60 MiB file 3. call split -b 100000 on that file and grep for package name to find the hash It's not security, it's deliberate obfuscation to make the user's life harder! @freebsd #FreeBSD
