If you struggle on the first puzzle in Crimson Desert. Some of the most talented creators and journalists I know struggled here. It doesn't make you less of a "gamer". It's an unintuitive puzzle with cumbersome controls in an environment you've yet to understand.

@StardustBunney if you still get brain fog, i would look into a supplement lions mane, i dont smoke much or did, but i do take edibles for my PTSD to help me sleep, and brain fog has always been huge on me and i been taking that and its help by a metric ton.

I stopped smoking probably 8 months ago. It took about 5-6 for my brain fog to go away and I STILL feel like it takes me a minute to gather and express my thoughts. And if I do smoke with a friend I feel so slow the next day. Just bc you don't notice it doesn't mean it isnt there

If you wanted to play online on Xbox, you were paying for XBOX Live... All the MMOs had subscription services, most of them still running from those days still do. There were free places to play some games like MSN Gaming Zone and Battlenet, but until steam took off there wasn't a lot of places to play PC online. And Paid DLC is just renamed Expansions, which we most certainly had to pay for. If I remember correctly Brood War was like $30? Burning Crusades was $40... Same model, just different names and vectors of sale.

Video games were $50 in 2000. Almost every online service required a monthly subscription too. That's ~$90 adjusted for inflation + subscription costs. Along with that, physical stores don't scrape 30% of the top like steam does. Games are cheaper now.

For all the people going “AnOtHer EXtRacTioN”, BL predates most games you’ve heard of besides EFT and Hunt. It’s also STILL the only game in the genre doing an objective, not “loot” based gamemode focused on asymmetrical PvP. An extremely creative game that deserves attention
