“Our weakness may seem to be an obstacle in the way of God’s perfecting His strength in us. However, it is only when our weakness becomes apparent, that God’s strength is duly perfected in us. . .We must distinguish between God’s strength and ours; for the word ‘My’ is emphatic. ‘My strength,’ says the Lord, ‘is perfected in the weakness of men’. . .Men quickly lose sight of its value, if they are not constantly exercised with a feeling of their own weakness.” — John Calvin

“With the troubles of this life, take them as they come, cheerfully and contentedly, thankfully praising God that there is good in the evil, and sweetness in the bitter. Take it all. It will not last long.” — Spurgeon

Things I’d love to see #pcaga and PCA churches focus on, that are not as much on our dockets: 1) Pastoral problems of legal pot use 2) Need of Catechism of our kids 3) desperate need of church plants in foreign missions 4) Prayer for Revival
Harrison Ford@rhford123

What are things that the #PCAGA isn't talking about that it probably should talk about?

@DPCassidyTKC I’m so sorry David. I broke my leg a week after you and I am right there with you in all that you are feeling—physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. DM me if you’d like to compare notes. I may be further along as I can now stand 50/50 but still can’t walk. Prayers for u.

On 12/6/25, I was struck by a car while cycling. There's a long way yet to go in my recovery. I haven't felt free to say anything about it here - much bigger issues are going on in our world, and my pain is tiny by comparison. But some have asked for an update. First, I am so grateful that the injuries weren't worse than they were, and I'm also thankful for the medical professionals who've cared for me. My family has been incredible, and @src_church members, staff, and ministry team have, as always, been amazingly supportive. In short, I hope to hear this week that I can begin some weight-bearing on the leg that was badly broken. I know it's going to be a year before it is fully restored, but these "baby steps" and PT are now on deck. I'm eager to get going. To those among you who pray, I ask you to join me in praying for all medical personnel who serve so many. Would you pray for my recovery and that God will grant me patient endurance until then? Pray that this trial will bring me closer to Jesus, deepen my faith and love, and make me more fruitful in his service. And together, let's pray this morning for all who suffer and for those who serve them, for the spread of Jesus' gospel in our sin-torn world, and that Christ's church will shine his life, light, and love to all. The Lord is good, and his mercy endures forever. Lord, hear our prayer.

In December 2025, former US Senator @BenSasse announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. That's the primary topic for this @UncKnowledge conversation about mortality, faith, and what truly matters when time is short. Talking to host @P_M_Robinson, Sasse reflects on "redeeming the time"—holding ambition lightly, loving family more deliberately, and resisting the urge to make politics or professional success the center of life. The discussion also covers Sasse's thoughts on the failures of Congress; the dangers of a fragmented, attention-starved republic; the crisis of higher education; and the moral challenges of technological abundance. He speaks candidly and movingly about regret, forgiveness, prayer, and suffering—arguing that while death is a real enemy, it does not get the final word. Watch the full conversation on X:

@SeanMLucas “Run the race with endurance” There’s a reason why the admonition is given in Heb 12—we are all so prone to drop out and give up. The race is hard. So many obstacles and so much adversity. Unimagined setbacks and even betrayals. And yet, HE remains ever faithful. All glory to God

One thing that can be hard for a pastor is just the enduring. After you are in the pastorate for a decade or more, you begin to see many weaknesses and sins in yourself, many failures in the ministry, and become increasingly aware of the resistance in God‘s people to change. As our insights grow, so do our temptations to increase in despair. As a friend in Christ, I would urge you to resist that temptation. Frequently take time to look over the church, your ministry, your faith, and give thanks to God for each good thing you see. So not only endure in the ministry, but blossom with thankfulness and praise.—Jack Miller

"God is usually very sensitive about His honor and usually frustrates proud people who boast of what they will do and have unlimited plans without any thought of the constraint they may receive in providence. . .“In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). We make plans, but their execution depends wholly on God’s will and providence. If we demand things, there is a contest between us and heaven about will and power; therefore, in such cases the answer of providence is more clearly and decisive to our loss, so that God may be acknowledged as Lord of the things that happen and the first mover in all causes and effects, without whom they have no efficacy." – Thomas Manton on James 4:15

@Nick_Batzig @PaulTripp This has been such a good reminder for me and the psalms are full of these imperatives. Jesus Himself let us know how important it is to not rush the wait when he said over and over, “my time has not yet come.” Indeed it is good to wait upon the “fullness of time.”

“Waiting is one of God’s most regular tools of maturing grace. From the perspective of the gospel, waiting is never just about getting what you’ve been waiting for, but, more importantly, about the good changes in you that God produces through the wait.“ - @PaulTripp

@farmingandJesus Psalm 37:1-7 will be balm for your soul and comfort for your heart. You have a strong voice here and right now our Lord is using you in ways you may never know to help others who face the same sorrows and disappointments as they watch you live by faith even in lament. Heb 12:2

There is this girl on social media who posted about her abortion about 18 months ago and was happy with her decision…still defends it to this day. Now she has a baby, and that’s cool, I’m thankful she didn’t k*ll this one too. These are the things I cannot understand as a Christian. I’m not saying we deserve one more than she does , I just can’t understand when all of our faith is in God and we begged him but they all died over and over and over (and over and over) but she k*lls hers and he blesses her with a child immediately . I know I’m all mixed up here but I genuinely cannot understand, at all. It hurts my feelings. Just being honest because I know someone out there has felt this way before. You can trust God and still not understand sometimes.

@jbyrd1000 South Carolina law requires us to move into a meeting of the corporation when voting on matters of property, and that restricts the voting age to 18. Presbyteries will need to check state laws.
