@KershTBL I did the upper ear piercing when I was a high schooler. I removed it at the start of my first academic post (I got tired of removing it coming in and out of the MRI scanner). 12+ years and I still feel the hole under the skin.

Attn: #Tissue mechanics folks! An excellent question in class came up - does the elastic cartilage of an ear piercing heal when removed? A quick search on pub-med has led to interesting articles (including a review in the Lancet!) but no clear answers. Anyone know?
