@GabriellaG439 I’m coming from Haskell/Scala, and writing typed Python for some time now, just use IntelliJ, mypy, and read/use the typing module, and add type hints to your code. Also, write some unit tests while your at it. Python is great, you’ll be fine 😃

@knutlinke @Grady_Booch I would use separation of modules something like #OSGi or #JPMS Java Platform Module System or #Plugins mechanism where you could deploy modules / components separately without restart the whole app. But still the easiest thing today is just #Microservice with careful design.

90% of my Postgres database optimization efforts are just splitting up big queries into smaller ones, suffering the additional round trips just so the query planner does the dumb/fast thing and doesn't do something superficially clever but ultimately counterproductive

... soooo basically restarting my mac fixed it.. but it is Unix based.. it's like being on Windows.. omg. wtf did you do #apple.. soo next time I can just buy a cheap ass windows-restart-when-something-goes-wrong laptop? for real?
