Parents had money to help one child. Son got: - flat down payment EMI help Daughter got: - wedding budget - gold Years later, his house appreciated. Her marriage collapsed. When she asked for help restarting, family said: "We already spent so much on you." That is when she understood: in some homes, a son's future is called investment. A daughter's future is called expense. Moral: "Many Indian families give daughters love. They give sons assets."

Dear women, If you can afford a maid please do, if you can get a cook, please get one. Always look for ways to make your life easier. There’s no award for the mom who works the hardest but lost herself in the process. Preserve yourself. Normalize not doing everything yourself.

DEEPLY UNSETTLING ! Watching Tamil Actor Ravi Mohan break down so publicly was deeply unsettling. "I am a quiet person. So, everyone thinks I am weak.I am quitting acting until I get my divorce. I am being prevented from meeting my own children" "To this day, I do not have a single personal bank account. I had only one joint account.Even if I withdrew a small amount, I would get an immediate call asking why I took the money" Whenever there is a marital dispute, society almost instantly assumes that only the woman is suffering. But relationships are complicated, painful, and emotionally devastating for everyone involved. Men are human too. They have emotions, fears, anxieties, and breaking points. They can also go through mental trauma, loneliness, emotional harassment, separation from children, public humiliation, and silent depression. Supporting women and acknowledging women’s pain is absolutely important. But empathy cannot be selective. Compassion cannot become gender specific. The way many people mocked, judged, and targeted Ravi Mohan without even pausing to understand his emotional state is honestly worrying. A man crying in public should not become entertainment.A father speaking about emotional pain should not become a meme. Sometimes the strongest thing a man does is to admit that he is hurt. @actor_jayamravi

Self-therapy: Ask these questions. What are my short-term goals? What exactly needs to be done today to move closer to them? Am I actually doing those things or just thinking about them? If not, why not? What obstacles or patterns keep repeating in my life? How will I overcome them? The hardest conversation you will ever have is with yourself. #therapy

Parents, if you truly value your children’s life, think twice before pushing them into medicine. It’s not just one NEET exam. First NEET UG. Then years of MBBS stress. Then the NEET PG rat race. Then NEET SS. By the time they finally settle in life, they’re either going bald or nearing menopause 😭 Whole youth sacrificed to exams, shifts & pressure. Think....

Dear IAPians I am shocked and traumatized by the misinformation being fed to you in various groups. I am not in any groups to even give you my version. 1. You are being told that I am expecting IAP to support me in the defamation case. NO. I AM NOT. I AM PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF DEFENDING MYSELF. I ASKED IAP TO CONDEMN THE NOTICE LIKE HOW OTHER ORGANISATIONS CONDEMNED THE NOTICE SO THAT COMPANIES DO NOT BULLY DOCTORS SPEAKING UP FOR PUBLIC HEALTH. I HAVE ASKED IAP TO CONDEMN KENVUE'S PUBLIC NOTICE SAYING IT'S SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTS WERE PRESENTED AT PEDICON. I ASKED IAP TO DO THIS SO THAT IAP'S RESPECT AND DIGNITY ARE PROTECTED. NO COMPANY WHICH PUTS UP A STALL IN PEDICON AFTER PAYING FOR THE CONFERENCE, SHOULD GO PUBLIC SAYING ITS PRODUCTS ARE SCIENTIFICALLY PRESENTED AT PEDICON! I ASKED PRESIDENT DR NEELAM MOHAN TO ASK KENVUE TO REBRAND eRZL TO NOT LOOK LIKE ORSL WHICH WAS EQUAL TO ORS FOR ALL THE PARENTS FOR 2 DECADES. INSTEAD, THE COMMITTEE CAME UP WITH A POSITION STATEMENT WITH CLEAR EMPHASIS ON SUCRALOSE BEING SAFE(eRZL USES SUCRALOSE) WITHOUT TALKING ABOUT OTHER ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS AND WITHOUT WARNING THE PARENTS ABOUT THE POTENTIAL RISKS OF DAILY AND LONG TERM CONSUMPTION OF SUCRALOSE. PLEASE NOTE THAT eRZL IS BEING MARKETED AS THE NEW FORM OF ORSL (THE SUGARY ONE) VIOLATING THE FSSAI ORDER AND IS BEING HANDED OUT AS ORS AT THE GROUND LEVEL. I HAVE PROOFS FOR THAT TOO. 2. You are being told that I earn money through my social media channels. A BIG LIE. MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL IS NOT A COMMERCIAL CHANNEL AND I HARDLY GET TIME TO POST, ANY WAY. THE ONLY WAY YOU EARN MONEY ON INSTAGRAM IS THROUGH ENDORSEMENTS, WHICH I DO NOT DO. 3. You are being told that I am doing what I am doing, for public attention. IF YOU ASK YOUR CONSCIENCE, YOU WILL KNOW THAT NO ONE WILL WRITE TO THE AUTHORITIES AND IAP FOR YEARS, FILE A PIL WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND THE MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES BEING THE RESPONDENTS, AND CALL OUT THE GOVERNMENT, MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES, AND IAP LEADERSHIP ON SOCIAL MEDIA, IF SHE/HE WASN'T PASSIONATE ABOUT THE CASE. PUBLICITY CAN BE GOT IN MANY OTHER WAYS. I DIDN'T HAVE TO GO AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA, LEAVE ALONE GOING AGAINST IAP LEADERSHIP. 4. You are being told that I am abusive and make derogatory comments. I AM NOT ABUSIVE. I HAVE CALLED OUT IAP LEADERSHIP FOR THEIR INDIFFERENCE TO MY MAILS ASKING THEM TO ASK JOHNSON&JOHNSON/KENVUE TO REBRAND ORSL SO AS NOT TO CONFUSE PARENTS, AND TO NOT ALLOW FUNDS FROM THOSE COMPANIES FOR PEDICON TILL THEY DID SO. I STAND BY WHAT I SAID. IF THAT'S ABUSIVE, I LEAVE IT AGAIN TO YOUR CONSCIENCE. 5. You are being told that I have not attended EB meetings in IAP TCB. I DID ATTEND A COUPLE OF MEETINGS. I REALIZED I COULD NOT SURVIVE THERE. EVERY TIME I BROUGHT UP THE TOPIC OF MISBRANDED SUGARY LIQUIDS(MISBRANDED AS ORS), THE TOPIC WOULD BE DIVERTED. ONE OF THEM EVEN HAD GONE ON TO SAY, " IT IS PARENT'S CHOICE". IT WAS SUFFOCATING. I RESIGNED FROM THE MEMBERSHIP IN THE VERY BEGINNING ITSELF. I am really shocked by the way some of you are trying to run this smear campaign instead of feeling heartened that one of the paediatricians has stood up against the pharma and ensured the children are protected from the sugary drinks misbranded as ORS. I have written to the IAP, to the authorities, filed a PIL, raised awareness through social media, and I have sent so much evidence(including videos) to the Central Government for the FSSAI order of Oct 14th and 15th to happen. Even in the Delhi High Court arguments, the videos had apparently helped the FSSAI in it's arguments against Kenvue(JNTL). If you listen to your conscience, you will understand the truth! Attaching instagram link of a video where I called out the Government too (this was blocked after it had gone to millions, and I have reposted it). instagram.com/reel/DVuLMR_kr… Dr Sivaranjani Santosh #smearcampaign #IAPleadership #ORS #misbranding #misleadingmarketing #diarrhoea #diabetes #deaths

The tragic death of Judge Aman Kumar Sharma is a reminder that no education, status or power makes a man invincible. At just 30, a man trained to uphold justice allegedly fell victim to harassment by his wife and sister in- law and not being able to take the pressure, he gave up on life. Biggest reason for male suicide in India is domestic issues/ family problems and men often choose not to share their sufferings and get emotionally choked. Being Strong or Successful shouldn't meant that someone suffer in silence. If you or anyone you know is being pushed to the brink, please remember that Suicide is never the answer. The system can be fought, but only if you’re here to fight it.

Beautiful
Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA@sacjai

When I was a third-year medical student on my obstetrics and gynecology rotation, I spent time working with an Ob-Gyn named Bruce who had a favorite line. As he scanned the bellies of expectant mothers, he would ask: “Do you have a name for the baby?” If they did, he would enthusiastically discuss the name. If they didn’t, he would grin and say: “You know, if it’s a boy, Bruce is a pretty great name.” As the rotation went on, I started doing admission histories and physicals for women arriving in labor. They say we absorb our clinical style from our teachers. So one day, while taking a history from a woman who had recently immigrated from Cape Verde, I decided to imitate my attending. “Do you have a name for the baby?” I asked. She told me she was still thinking about it. Without much thought, I replied: “Sachin is a pretty great name.” She paused. “What does it mean?” I told her: “It roughly translates as truth.” She smiled. “I like it.” I was suddenly caught off guard. What had started as a throwaway conversation starter borrowed from my attending had unexpectedly become something real. A few hours later, another “Sachin” was born into the world. I have thought about that moment many times over the years. Medicine gives us extraordinary access to people’s lives at moments of enormous vulnerability, hope, fear, and possibility. Sometimes we underestimate how much even small interactions can matter. And sometimes, without realizing it, we leave pieces of ourselves behind in other people’s stories.

The law protects the loud while the silent are left to hang. The suicide of Judge Aman Kumar Sharma is a tragic indictment of the Silent Struggle within high-stakes marriages. If a judge, fully aware of his legal recourse, feels that it has become difficult to continue living due to domestic harassment, we must ask, Are our family laws so skewed that even those who preside over them feel helpless? His father drove from Alwar in the middle of the night only to be told he’d be jailed if he stepped inside to save his own son. We have created a society where a man’s silent tears are ignored while a woman’s threat to call the police is treated as an immediate death warrant for a career. Who is going to tell the fathers of India that their presence is now a trespass in their children's lives? It’s time for Balanced Family Laws that protect every human being, regardless of gender. 🕯️

As per media reports, Aman Sharma called his father on Friday night at 10 pm that he is being subjected to extreme mental torture since 2 months & he doesn't want to live anymore His father immediately left Alwar & arrived in Delhi but when he went to his son's house, his DIL didn't let him enter the house & said if he entered, she will call police Helpless, he called her family but realised all of them had blocked him. Last he heard his son from outside, he was crying while his wife was shouting. Social media is now full of testimonies of people who knew him personally - well behaved, very amiable, introvert, helpful and a bright young man. Gone just too soon :( @ekamnyaay

This is my favourite scene in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Salman Khan didn’t utter a single dialogue in it and still delivered his finest performance in that scene. He is truly a fantastic actor when he has worked on good script. #SalmanKhan

People avoid govt schools despite paying taxes and an education cess, because the system has failed to earn their trust. Private schools exploit this compulsion. With no real alternatives, parents are squeezed and intimidated. Here, a principal from a reputed private school in Hardoi is berating parents for buying books from a cheaper shop instead of the school’s designated vendor. The insulting tone, “shut up,” “naam kaat do”, says it all. Almost everyone with power in India abuses it to bully those without it.
