Real OGs know the restaurant owners just settled with workers after an 8 year legal battle over stealing the wages of 263 workers. So I guess it's fair to say it was crime related

It really is impossible to get people to talk about drug use as distinct from homeless people using drugs. It is the only drug policy a large segment of the public cares about, because for them drug policy is solely about the perceived impact of public drug use.
