In a few months, I’ll be leaving GP partnership forever. Difficult decision - the most difficult - because it’s a *fantastic* partnership. Returning to clinical work at reduced hours after summer. In the meantime…🚴🏻♂️

@doctoddy Yes. But not as a partner. I need freedom to ride my bike and consider all the job offers allied to medicine that I’ve been turning down over the past 20yrs. However, I suspect a summer of bike riding will consolidate my plans…..

This week, I find myself unexpectedly under the care of surgical colleagues. I can endorse @dr_mattmorgan top tips for a hospital stay:
1. Breathing and leg exercises
2. Anticipatory laxatives if strong analgesia
3. Eye mask and earplugs.
Noise cancelling earbuds a revelation.
