there is zero accountability in academia. it takes the worst of private sector profit-seeking & combines it with public sector over-bureaucratization and dysfunction. then calls itself a charity. both private and public sectors in UK have made progress on this: why can't we?

personally, I think MPs should be paid more and their other income activities seriously curtailed. this is what breeds corruption and elite capture, as privileged MPs find other ways to benefit / compensate. no pay rise without reform imho

The independent regulator has announced a £2,500 pay rise for MPs. At a time when disabled people are facing the biggest cuts to disability benefits on record, this is simply wrong. I’ll be donating mine to charities supporting disabled people in Coventry & across the country.

We ended up with an even worse agency - Diversity Travel (who weirdly don't have any statement on their values or what they do in terms of diversity). Even more expensive than Key Travel but even less competent (with no regional knowledge) - despite complaints we still have them!
