I came home from work last Thursday to a letter from HMRC - "Dear Mr xxx, we screwed your PAYE code up 3yrs ago. You owe us £3302". Letter was dated 21st May but only received on 4th June. They claim to have sent a previous 'reminder' at end of March, never received owt. They claim to have sent a calculation explaining how I owed it in November last year, never received that either. In any case, three fuckin years ago!!! 🤬 After spending over 1.5hrs on hold Friday morning only to get cut off, and nearly 2hrs again this morning, I finally got through to someone. I'm now £91.78 a month worse off for the next 3yrs, because of course I can fuckin afford that. Bloody boiler's been losing pressure every other day for nearly a year, finally managed to save up £400 to get it fixed, was going to be booking repair today, that's out the fuckin window. As is the summer holiday with the kids to a basic caravan in Great Yarmouth. Absolute bunch of cunts. 🤬😢 Words can't express how much I absolutely HATE HMRC. Especially knowing exactly where my taxes are going - scroungers, foreigners, foreign aid, bastard Ukraine, the list goes on and on.
