Yes! Let’s strive to build this culture where our behaviors as adults match the words on our walls. And when they don’t (we are all vulnerable) rather than have our initial reaction be to judge or punish, let’s take time to understand what is causing the behavior and then work together to be better. #Culturize

Adults in schools, Find five kids today & tell them this: "I'm so glad your here today because..." Leaders, do the same with 5 teachers. Every single person in school bring something special to it. And we should make sure each one knows. Repeat this process often.

Climate and Culture The magic of Disney isn’t in the theme park rides. You can get that anywhere. The MAGIC is because of the PEOPLE ❤️ and how they make you feel. Let’s bring that to our schools. A smile, a welcome it’s good to see you costs nothing but it’s a game changer.

All behavior is a form of communication. Kids are not “bad” for the sake of being bad. There is always an underlying reason. Love them enough to find the root cause and help them rise above it. That’s when you know you’re in the business of changing lives. #multiplyexcellence

Each day of school, we get to make a deposit into the memory banks of children. Relationships matter. Positive moments matter. Schools exist for KIDS. Love them hard! #multiplyexcellence

The benefits of well-managed high school athletics: 1. Sports teams serve as the front porch and brand of the school. They are the reason for a school mascot, school song, and pep rallies. Sports create tradition. 2. Athletics serve as the largest and most successful at-risk program for a school. Playing sports provides purpose, discipline, motivation, and structure for those who may not get it at home. Sports requires successful academic performance to be eligible. 3. The local community connects with the school district through sports. Athletes are discussed and celebrated in the local newspaper, on the radio, and on the news. 4. Fundraising: Booster clubs raise money providing everything from meals and uniforms to facility enhancements and travel expenses. 5. The student experience for non-athletes is enhanced because of athletics. The student body comes together to cheer and support their school enhancing school unity and togetherness. The band, cheerleaders, dance team, choir, and others have increased opportunities and a platform to showcase their talents on game days. 6. Sports creates and enhances tradition. Alumni come back for homecoming games and more to support and feel connected with their past. This valuable engagement enhances school support and creates fundraising opportunities. 7. Sports teach accountability to athletes. Playing requires successful academic performance to be eligible. 8. Athletics is the reason for a school mascot, school song & pep rallies.

In the remaining days of school, you may see some out of character behaviors from some students. Remember that not all students look forward to summer break. For some students, school is their safe place… where they receive consistent food, where they feel most successful, where they are surrounded by kindness and love, and where they can just be themselves. All behaviors are communication. Respond first with empathy and compassion. Thank you for everything you do for our kids! Have an amazing and well-deserved summer break!
