I truly don't know. There is no incentive to be a moderate on trans stuff, and every incentive to go to extremes. There's a reason the woman from Gamergate, numb to online harassment, is the first trans public figure speaking out. For press, there is a tiny but aggressively engaged Gender Critical crowd that will give you clicks. For the LGBT community, they're trapped in the purity spiral of more and more extreme politics. I'm building a coalition in backchannel and talking to electeds every day, trying to reform this movement. @dollcastshow is trying to model real conversations. I'm not sure that I will be successful, but I know I have to try.

i want to go a bit in depth as to why, despite strongly agreeing on the issue here (trans people being shut out of normal public life), i have disagreements with the path forward for trans activism, since i havent articulated it before🧵
