@Guard_Ean @Guard_Amos Don’t talk to me about painline! 🤣 That’s always the case, peak/off peak fares at the start of the journey but then the more digging you do you’ll find a AP ticket. Getting BHM is terrible for splits.

Causes chaos when they get them on painline and the first part is any/off-peak and the second is AP for a train hours away from the one they’re on. I don’t blame some customers for getting it wrong

What age group would it be for? We already have the 16-17 saver (saves 50%), 16-25, 26-30, senior railcard and Family and Friends. which at most knock 33% off. We don't need anymore railcards. What would the discount be?

I’m campaigning for a Great British Railcard. Private firms fleeced us for years - just to get to work, appointments or see loved ones. Public ownership must end the rail rip-off. You can get a railcard like this 👇 (but smaller) if Ministers back my plan for cheaper fares.

@Guard_Ean @Guard_Amos Thats true, we see a lot of Seaham splits for Newcastle Airport. Thornaby-Seaham AP and then Seaham to Newcastle Airport. The fares along the Tyne Valley Line we split, E”even though there direct trains all the way to Carlisle.

@domcorn95 @Guard_Amos Split save shows how wrong fares are, two intermediate journeys should never be less than a direct one. Same with flights out of the UK. From Heathrow is more than via Heathrow from another UK start point 🤷♂️

@Guard_Ean @Guard_Amos That’s a great idea, knock off 34% all fares. Also do what Scotland have done and do away with peak fares. Get rid of AP tickets too as there is so much confusion around them. Need to make ticketing more simpler and split save is great but needs tweaking.

@Guard_Amos Don’t know why they don’t just bin railcards and knock 20% (maybe 25/33 or whatever) for everyone and encourage everyone to use the train?! Or on local routes, make tickets 50% off if you travel between 10-3 Monday to Friday kind of thing. Turnover through volume of sales
