Charles Wood Festival Gala Concert 🎶 Join us on Friday, 16th August, at St. Patrick's Church of Ireland Cathedral, Armagh, for a glorious evening of music. Enjoy performances by The Charles Wood Singers and Charles Wood Girls' Choir, Ellen Pearson (Senior Winner of the 2024 Charles Wood Song Competition), and the 2024 Winner of the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition. The Gala Concert featuring David Hill, Philip Scriven, Ian Keatley, Luke Bond, and Ruth McGinley, has always been a Festival Favourite and promises once more to be an evening to remember. This was such a great concert, every work manifesting the particular genius of each composer through absolutely stonking performances full of great skill and joy. I love the immediacy of the Barbican on nights like these.

To mark the start of Holy Week, I'll be playing an organ meditation @Southwarkcathed on Monday 25th, 1.20pm. Music will be interspersed with sections of the poem The Dream of the Rood, read by Canon Precentor Kathryn Fleming. I, for one, am hugely excited about this. Free entry!

I will have to consult the archive, but I’m pretty sure this is the first time a set of canticles I wrote will be sung at an Installation of a Canon Librarian. Anybody wanting to take a break from the Borough Market scrum: poke your head into @Southwarkcathed and rejoice.

Two days of ‘professional development’ in Cambridge attending meetings, rehearsals and services at St John’s and King’s. Very grateful to Chris Gray, Mark Oakley and Dan Hyde for generous hospitality. Coming away feeling very inspired.
