It's Fungi Friday! We've got some 'False Turkey Tail' (not enough turkey left after Thanksgiving, I guess!) with nice green lichen bands and what looks to be the start of a jelly type shroom.

It's fungi friday! The first two pics are the ones I thought I posted last friday (oops😅). They loosely resemble some decrepit Bitter Oysterlings. The second two pictures are this week's, and they appear to be Turkey Tail!

I remember when my insurance told me that the cranioplasty to replace my missing skull piece (a year after my emergency craniotomy) wasn't a "medically necessary procedure." and I had to fight to get it covered. Fucking scum of the earth bastards.

4 days out from my life-changing surgery, @Aetna has denied the appeal for my brain surgery. to be clear, when i signed up to aetna months ago, the coordinator had confirmed they would cover this surgery. then, a week ago, they said the surgery was too experimental/elective and denied coverage. we appealed. that appeal was just denied today. now, my neurosurgeon is trying to do a peer-to-peer consult with someone at aetna to explain why i need it so we don’t lose the surgery date on monday morning. aetna is not being responsive. this is sadistic and a violation of basic trust. please spread this so they can’t ignore it. they may not care if i live or die but people should know just what kind of company they’re dealing with. and please pray they are able to have a peer-to-peer consult with my neurosurgeon and have a change of heart.

It's Fungi Friday! Here, we have two types of lichen (the yellow and blue-gray splotches). Lichens are actually a hybrid organism that is part fungus and part algae or cyanobacteria. This union can create some interesting colors!

I should add: if correct, these are poisonous and psychoactive, do not ingest. I am also not a professional mycologist. My advice: Admire wild fungus without touching and buy your fungus for eating in the grocery store 🤨🙂‍↔️

Little spore print suprise this Sunday, from the last fungi friday. Plenty of nice white spores. Appears to be of the Aminita Genus, making these either Amanita persicina or var. guessowii.
