@PeterMayo51 @alflats11 Hennelly, Cillian and AOS should be gone.. Moran should have been a new brush sweeping clean instead its the same stale dusty approach. You never get a 2nd chance for a first impression.

Of course you only think about these things after a defeat like Sunday but how big of a loss is Oisin Mullen to this current Mayo team?! He’d definitely help to sort one or two of the issues we have currently.

@SmallerFishGAA Hennely was responsible for 1-4 in the first half. He was awful. Mayo should have been up by 8 at least at HT but weren't because of him. Not good enough.

Some of Hennelly kickouts were poor Some of them were fine that weren't won in midfield To say 1-11 came off his kickouts is harsh analysis and lets players out the field off the hook Roscommon dominated that second half all over the field

@AdamJoseph Plus maybe some of the youth players that were available to amorim werent as good as what were available to Sir Matt and Sir Alex... United need an overhaul. Amorim was trying to do that. He needed more time and strengthening in midfield. He got neither.

I'm going to say one last thing on Ruben Amorim. Normally my mentions are a cesspit from making fun of rivals, it is why I don't check them on matchdays. Now? It is fans hate watching their own football club, the one that they used to support. They aren’t suffering right now - they’re enjoying it. Failure validates this fantasy they built around Amorim. These results are a continuation of the majority of his own, both recent & long term. The football under Amorim was awful. Predictable, slow, easily countered & structurally fragile. Months of evidence & he refused to adapt. That's not bravery. That's arrogance masquerading under ideology. And let's be clear. Critics did not say 'a back four' or 'Mainoo' would fix everything. That was a deliberate exaggeration used to dismiss valid concerns. Nuanced criticism flattened into straw men for ignorance's sake. Pointing out that a system doesn’t work isn’t claiming one tweak solves all problems. It's identifying systemic issues, ongoing ones. Fans pretending critics argued otherwise is nothing short of gaslighting. Amorim didn’t maximise his players. That’s not opinion - it is obvious. He didn’t maximise his best players, roles didn’t match strengths, adjustments came too late or not at all. Good coaching elevates, his didn't. The Academy debate matters, it goes to the core of Manchester United; built on youth - not sentimentally but structurally. Sir Matt, Sir Alex, to a homegrown player in every matchday squad for 80+ years, youth isn't optional. It is in the fabric of who the club is. Amorim marginalising Academy players wasn't just poor man-management - it was philosophically incompatible with the club. Youth is protected, developed & integrated, not publicly mistreated. And let’s be honest about the abuse. Amorim spoke, his defenders weaponised his words. Anyone he criticised got targeted. Anyone who questioned him got gaslit. Performances didn’t matter - obedience did. Fans were manipulated by his words despite the fact they were constantly contradictory. You fell in love with how he spoke, not with what the team did. You loved press conferences more than performances. If you need to squint to see improvement, I assure you that it isn't there. I did the same thing for months. How many more statistics do you need to be quoted? Darren Fletcher, an interim, is judged by standards - which had seemingly disappeared & which you never held Amorim to. Suddenly performances matter! That double standard tells you everything. Some fans are enjoying current struggles because it lets them rewrite history & demand Amorim back. That isn't support. It is personal validation. Wanting the club to suffer so you don't have to admit you were wrong. You want him back despite the awful football, the refusal to adapt, the wasted talent, the damaged youth pathway & the poisonous fan culture he enabled. You ignored reality then. Now you're just rewriting it. Pretending otherwise now isn’t loyalty or hindsight - it's denial. Amorim didn’t just fall short, he failed.

@AdamJoseph Too much waffle there Adam. If the system didnt work we wouldn't have been challenging for top 4. But we were. We also had a higher XG than city and arsenal. A few seasons ago we couldn't score from set pieces. Now we have most goals from Set pieces in the league. Simple facts.

@bethTmufc Amorim should have been backed. The whole world knows United need strengthening in midfield and INEOS ignored it. Missing out on Semenyo was a blow. He was a perfect replacement for zirksee who was wanted by Roma. Amorim was lied to and thrown under a bus. The club is fucked.

Some people can’t seem to grasp that you can be frustrated with the ownership and still think Amorim didn’t do enough in his 14+ months to justify investing millions in him. There are multiple conversations to be had and not everything has to be talked about in extremes.

@henrywinter Amorim was a leader. He got rid of players who were parasites around the dressing room. He tried to change the culture and get players to fight for the shirt on the pitch. He wasnt backed by INEOS and they threw him under a bus. Amorim deserved better. Alot better.

It’s been clear for a while that one of Manchester United’s biggest problems is a lack of real leadership. In the boardroom, in the dug-out and in the dressing-room. Glazers and Ineos keep making bad decisions on the football side - and the Glazers are more focused on the money side anyway. Ruben Amorim wasn’t a real leader, a commanding figure the team and fans craved. The team itself lacks leaders. Who takes responsibility in adversity? What’s wrong with United is not just a question of calibre but character. They have to appoint and recruit better.  They need more like Bryan Mbeumo, who can’t return soon enough. As for 18-year-old Shea Lacey, he was naive and impetuous, deserved the two yellows, but at least his mortified reaction showed how much he cares. He knew he’d let the side down. Others do it regularly. United need more leaders, strong characters who think about the team and the club before themselves. #MUFC

@rioferdy5 Rio. You're the only ex United player in the media who is balanced and fair. The majority of the other players who played with you are a disgrace. They never gave amorim a chance. Scholes, But and Gary Neville should hang their heads in shame.

@johnnysarge @Malachians Bar Ferdinand, the ex United players in the media are vile. Gary Neville especially. They just want their own man in charge. From the start they were against amorim. Some games weren't pretty to watch ill admit. But the team showed fight. We were slowly improving. Its Shameful.

@doniehall @Malachians It’s vibes and dna until the end of the season now . Any solution or suggestion from Scholes or Neville would help but they are too busy waiting and wanting on an English manager so they can lick his hole.

The first responsibility of a football department is to define a playing style and then recruit the best people possible to implement that style. You can’t keep Erik Ten Hag, sack him and then hire a completely different manager that plays a completely different way if you do that, it’s impossible. There is no continuity in their decisions, none of it makes sense

@markgoldbridge Casemiro is one of our top scorers. I really dont get the craze over mainoo. Ive seen him play 3 times in the flesh. Twice for United and once for England. Each time he has been very average. Hes not box to box. Hes a Poor tackler. Poor at running back. Good passer but that's it!

@mrmichaelbarton What's the big deal about mainoo. Ive seen him play twice in the flesh for United and once for England. he was average at best. He can't run. He ain't box to box and his tackling is less than impressive. He can pass a ball but hes not what people make him out to be.

@Ellis_ Amorim didnt make a mess of anything. INEOS didnt back him. The whole world knows United need to strengthen in midfield and INEOS didnt back their manager. The system made United hard to beat even though it wasn't perfect. Amorim needed time and more backing. He was failed. Badly

Unlucky Fletch. You inherited the mess that Amorim left behind and have tried your best over the last two games. Thank you for giving the likes of Lacey a chance he put the likes of Cunha and Mount to shame today. He may have got a red card, but at least he showed passion and a real hungry to try make things happen. INEOS need to sort their shit out asap.

@bethTmufc Amorim tried to change the culture. His system made united tough to beat. Wasn't pretty but we were improving. Mainoo started against Grimsby. Ive seen him play twice in the flesh. Hes average. Ill be at Old Trafford for the Fulham game. And im dreading it already. It's a mess.
