@Abowman1029@MarsinCharge I have slowly come to realize how much my life differed from my 3 younger siblings. I carried a lot of responsibilities somehow - delegated and/or voluntary. I still tend to. I do act childish sometimes now, I think as a way to get back some of the “carefree” that I lost.
@MarsinCharge Posted this under another tweet recently but it definitely applies here. Cheers to all the other oldest daughters, we’ve been through a lot.
@JoannaMarieHall@joecousins89 Or just be kind because they are a person. It matters not if you’ll “need them” someday. We all need each other all the time and we don’t need to be thinking’s well he never helped me so I won’t help him. Don’t do good expecting a payback time.
@joecousins89 He collapsed in a toilet one evening, he was working late and it was one of those staff who came to his aide. I could’ve lost my dad that day. Always treat your colleagues with dignity, be they a cleaner or the CEO, you never know when you might need them to save your life!
And this is why I love my mum. She’s been cleaning banks for 35 years and today walked out with this lovely note left for that awful manager. Happy retirement Mum - always have the last laugh eh! 💚☺️ #Tada
@TorreyHam@SlingbladeWilly It doesn’t matter. It’s the same in PA right now. No inspections, over asking price and asking price is way out of line already, and short windows of offers to be placed. Nothing is on the market for more than a day.
I know I keep saying it, but now that we're a full year into this thing I'm just blown away by how millions of teachers across the country have completely shifted and reimagined both their pedagogy and their role as educators to continue serving their students. It's incredible.
@DickKingSmith The Bluetooth in the livingroom was picking up he sound while I was elsewhere trying to figure out why I couldn’t hear it. Dog was still a bit concerned to hear a piano and cat when I finally figured it out.
@wildwend@chrissyteigen What a load of rubbish. I’ve never huffed and puffed on a horses nose and I’ve gotten on fine with all of mine. Albeit they’re all now dead other than the one I bought in October 🙈
anyone ever written a halloween story?
and I like "5 Little Pumpkins" song... also, I need to watch the Nightmare Before Christmas... been a while!

I want to have Ss create a “word cloud” from text- using the image of a pumpkin, type in words - what they’re thankful for- and those words will be arranged in the shape of a pumpkin. BUT what’s a google classroom-friendly format to have them create that?
@KarinaYanGlaser As a fifth grade teacher I like the first email. It's efficient. However, close with your the best teacher ever. We elementary teachers are suckers for this.
My daughter’s fifth grade teachers were tired of getting emails consisting of, “hi, i don’t understand the hw. can u help. thx.” So they had a lesson on it, and last night’s homework was to write an example of a proper email requesting help. Here is my daughter’s. 😂
@DennisDill They need to know we are humans who love. They need to have the opportunity to be a blessing to you. They need to experience sympathy and know how to be compassionate. It’s just another lesson about life and love.
@biblio_phile Or maybe she doesn’t care what color you are. All the achers ask other teachers for things all the time with no “compensation”. This is an instance of a lack of discrimination. Isn’t that what we’re going for?
My wife and I have less than 24 hrs to decide if our kids (3rd grade and 1st grade) participate in a hybrid model to start the year OR commit to full year of remote learning.
Then I’ll have decide if I want to go back into classroom or leave.
Perhaps I’ll get sleep tomorrow.
@supportingcaste@sarahcpr@BarbaraHershey8 Exactly. I had to take this test for an insurance policy. Though it sounds asinine in a vid clip, it IS actually quite a feat to recall those words later - in the correct order! - after a multitude of other questions and answers. Not like memorizing a poem.
