Been thinking about this too... we need to go back to it imo. The game isn't "decided" by the officials issuing the tech, it is decided by the players/coaches having no restraint.
We already don't enforce bench decorum at all. We need to have some standards and stop this stuff

Reminder: it used to be a straight technical for running on the court like this, but games were decided by the resulting FTs and it was deemed too harsh ("Games can't end like that!") so now we have players and coaches with no self-control running on the floor without sanction.🤷♂️
