Arrow really is a fascinating show in terms of genre history. Starting and establishing itself in the gritty, realistic, "Don't do anything too comic book" era and then slowly dragging itself through the rise of superhero media and ending with a giant multiverse crossover.

10 years ago today, ARROW killed off Laurel Lance / Black Canary. The decision was widely panned, leading a significant ratings decline. It has gone down in history as one of the worst storylines in DC TV history.
