Maybe the ethics/nuance are off, but holding on to these things in a vault for historical and archeological preservation sounds perfectly fine for me. Let's think of the alternatives here for a moment. What would you rather be done with them? Melt it down and reforge it, toss it all out, stick them in a shelf for display at a museum? The last one could be done eventually or as necessary for some samples, but the rest? The best ethical case scenario is archiving and vaulting it as it is being done for future people to revisit, use, and study.

@Iberyes Yeah getting them out is the hardest part in my experience as well. Even with a traditional soldering iron. Because getting multiple solders hot engouh to be able to move it and then being fast before they cool down again is quite difficult

@dontcampme I was using a soldering gun instead of a traditional iron and it wasn't able to get hot enough to remove the already existing connections. I am gonna buy a proper iron today and try again
