@Josh_Stai My grandpas were in WWII and my great uncle was a Colonel who trained some of the first paratroopers. Dad was in Nam. Almost joined the Navy, but he told me not to.

@cyphorous @AdrianDittmann Thanks for explaining, so it's basically that ppl don't pay attention/have the ability to know how the algorithms work (even if open) - as they are all different - and basically secret especially to non- engineer/computer science types

A blackbox is a system (an app, smartphone's OS, search engine etc...) that takes your input, processes them (the middle is key), and gives out an output. This middle part, is unknown in case of a blackbox. Like someone wouldn't care how Airbnb suggests the best possible stay for them, as long as it satisfies their requirements. What happens in their algo is not known, and that's a blackbox to outsiders.

This was my favorite moment from Elon, Franz, and Lars yesterday. Elon: "I’ll tell you something, maybe at a fundamental level why the Model S/X succeeded, which is that, those cars were designed with love." Lars: "Absolutely." Elon: "That would be my advice for people out there who are making products or providing services, is do something that you truly love. Your customers will feel that love." Anyone who owns a Tesla knows exactly what he means.
Lars@larsmoravy

Each one built with love. When @elonmusk said that, really choked me up. Everyday we make our products with our customers in mind. We love all of you more than you know. Thanks for CONSTANTLY lifting us up. ALL THE LOVE!!!!

The happiest people are those who don't know much. The more you about anything and everything the lonelier, quieter and sadder you'll become. Know what you ought to and leave what you ought not to know.

People really don’t understand the reality of emergency obstetrics until they witness moments like this. In theatre, dignity is always respected, but when a mother’s life is on the line and a baby is deeply impacted, every skilled hand matters. Pushing up the fetal head vaginally during a difficult C-section is not about “exposure,” it’s a lifesaving maneuver done under intense pressure to reduce trauma and give both mother and baby a fighting chance. Sadly, not every story ends the way we hope, and losing a baby in those moments stays with the entire team. This is also why antenatal care and timely hospital presentation matter so much. May we continue to advocate for safer maternal health and show grace to healthcare workers carrying these experiences quietly. 🤍
Oghenerukevwe@dr_rhookie

I remember a time during my Housejob when an unbooked pregnant woman was rushed into gyne emergency, and we had to proceed with an emergency C-section. The patient was draped, the surgeons scrubbed in, and the procedure began. Once we entered the uterus, we found the baby’s head deeply impacted in the pelvis, requiring manual disimpaction by pushing it up from the vagina. I was asked to quickly scrub in so I could push the head up from the pelvic region through the vagina. No the private areas are not routinely exposed but when push comes to shove it will be exposed. The baby was already gone unfortunately 😩

@autisticadhdco Yes, try to have grace on yourself with realistic expectations. A problem with consistency in a society driven by consistency can really effect a person.

@adhdjesse Agree, except it can be different in girls - girls with inattentive type are often overlooked because they don't annoy teachers - they might be a good quiet girl staring out the window, so no one notices. And Adhders can be very creative when in hyperfocus, lol. Or "too intense"

@strong_sistas This approach was used in upper midwest well into 20th century, by regular farmers For many, they didnt get electricity in rural areas until 40s, some even early 60s. Thats basic electricity for lightbulbs/well pump, A fridge was a luxury in countryside

The massive block of ice our Amish produce farm partner uses to cool his walk in fridge one wall over. Each block hand harvested from a nearby lake during the winter. Will last them the entire summer and keep the fridge around 40-45 deg F to cool off produce after harvest.

One of our Amish produce farmers cools their produce after harvest in a ~43 deg F walk in fridge that is chilled by a room filled with hundreds of ice bricks that they gathered all winter long from a nearby lake.
