If that poor girl hadn’t been killed, the “false rape accusation” narrative would already be in full swing. Makes me wonder if men only believe rape happened when the victims die at the scene and never get to tell their story.

Every freedom you have as a woman was earned through the sacrifice of women who came before you. You didn’t inherit these rights by luck. Someone marched, protested, and paid a price for them.

“Bring proof, bring proof.” Now a rape case with overwhelming evidence, from test results to text messages to recordings, was presented before a court of law, and it was struck out as “no case.” On what basis? Irrefutable proof is not enough for the public. Irrefutable proof is still not enough in a court of law. Then we wonder why victims never get justice, why rape is not taken seriously here, and why many victims would rather stay silent than watch their perpetrators walk free in court, be called liars by family, friends, and people online, then be branded liars in court too and haunted for life by the smirk on the face of the person who violated them as he is declared free to walk. “Bring proof, bring proof”, always said in bad faith because deep down, you know that here, proof is never enough. This is deeply unfair. That rapist goes on to live his life unscathed, while Fem’s life is altered forever. Zero outrage from the very people who constantly posture about caring for “proof.” This is extremely wicked. @Lagosdsva, what are you doing about this? What kind of message are we sending to other victims?

Kidnapping of such magnitude has been normalised now but it was mostly unprecedented for Nigerians back then and people were right in their anger to call him incompetent and seek an alternative. It is unfortunate that the alternative was Buhari who was going to be a thousand times worse.

I am so sorry but we had the first major mass kidnapping of school girls during Jonathan’s regime, Ofcourse many people pushed for change. Why are you people calling them tribalist for such??

No one can ever gaslight me by saying GEJ was a good president. I remember like mad, he was bad. He was the one that made us believe Naija need saving. It's why we ran to Buhari who unfortunately was worse.

We need more women in political parties!!
Dr Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi@abiolaak

I've spent decades advocating for women's political participation. The barriers haven't disappeared, they've evolved. Our coalition's open letter to political parties outlines concrete steps for gender inclusive primaries in 2027. In light of this, we respectfully appeal to all political parties to urgently: . Ensure transparent, inclusive, and violence free party primaries; . Create deliberate pathways for increased women’s representation on party ballots; . Introduce and implement gender quotas within party constitutions and leadership structures at ward, local government, state, and national levels; . Empower National Women Leaders within party structures with meaningful authority and participation in decision-making processes; . Reduce excessive nomination form fees and other financial barriers that disproportionately disadvantage women aspirants; . Publicly commit to affirmative measures that support women candidates ahead of the 2027 elections; . Prevent the use of consensus arrangements and zoning processes as tools for excluding women from contesting; . Promote equal treatment and fair opportunities for female aspirants during screenings, consultations, and delegate engagements. We also urge party leaders to rise above narrow political interests and place national development at the center of their decisions. Increasing women’s participation in governance is not merely a gender issue; it is fundamental to strengthening democracy, improving representation, and advancing national progress. @BigBadReni @SavvyRinu @kikimordi @faree_for_real @AishaYesufu @obyezeks

@unc4nny_X The discourse around this is funny because we say we want black films, and films with all black casts, but they seem to forget that also extends to being villains/antagonists in films.

Let me burst your bubble dick head! In 2023 when Tinubu assumed office, PMS was N185, so N5,000,000 could buy 27,027 liters of PMS. Today PMS is N1370, and your N37,000,000 could only buy 27,007 liters. That is 20 liters less than what you could buy in 2023. Foolish idiot!
Anthony Mustapha@AnthonyMustaph

Invested N5m in Zenith after Tinubu came in and dollar was N1800. That went up to N12m and then moved everything to Aradel early this year and investment now stands at N37m. In dollar terms that is $6k to $27k . Now tell me why I should remove this government?

Day 45 of #JusticeForOchanya 💔 Another day, my heart still aches for our little Ochanya. Sent to “family” for safety and school, this innocent 13-year-old from Benue was raped repeatedly from age 8 by her uncle Andrew Ogbuja (a lecturer) and his son Victor. The abuse destroyed her body with vesicovaginal fistula. She smiled through the pain until it took her life in October 2018. Andrew walks free. Victor remains a fugitive. The silence from @BenuePoliceNG, @benuestategovt and @PoliceNG protects them. We demand: Arrest Victor Ogbuja NOW. Re-open the case. Protect our girls. Ochanya, your blood still cries out. Rest in power, beautiful angel. We see you, we feel you. We are not tired. We are not forgetting. We are not stopping. 🙏 #JusticeForOchanya #ArrestVictorOgbuja #ProtectTheGirlChild Let’s tag @PoliceNG more 🙏🏽

Day 44 of #JusticeForOchanya 💔 Another day. Another reminder that we refuse to let Ochanya’s story fade into silence. This 13-year-old girl from Benue State was sent to live with “family” for schooling and safety. Instead, from the age of 8, she was repeatedly raped by her uncle Andrew Ogbuja (a lecturer) and his son Victor Ogbuja. The years of abuse destroyed her body, leaving her with vesicovaginal fistula (VVF). She suffered in silence, smiled through the pain, and eventually died in October 2018. Andrew was acquitted by the court in 2022. Victor remains a fugitive walking free, with no sustained manhunt, no fresh wanted notice, and no real pressure from the authorities even years later. The continued silence from @BenuePoliceNG, @benuestategovt, and @PoliceNG is complicity that protects the guilty while Nigerian girls keep paying with their lives. We demand: Arrest Victor Ogbuja NOW. Re-open the full case. Deliver real justice and systemic change. To every parent trusting “family” with their daughter’s future — this fight is for you too. To every girl child still at risk — we see you. Ochanya, your blood still cries out from the ground. We will not rest until justice is served. Every single day we show up for you. Rest in power, beautiful angel. The fight continues. We are not tired. We are not forgetting. We are not stopping. 🙏 #JusticeForOchanya #ArrestVictorOgbuja #EndChildRape #ProtectTheGirlChild #JusticeForTheGirlChild

You slept last night and woke up on your comfy bed this morning. But some little children in Esinele Oyo state slept in a bush with mosquitoes and sandflies feasting on them all night Those children are suffering today because some non living things are supporting Tinubu.

Yep. Back in 2014/15 or so I was working as an intern for a private equity firm. They paid me 200k a month. Dollar had just hit N200. I wasn’t even on the company payroll. My pay was too small for them. HR just wrote me a check every month I was seriously balling back then

Little girls get raped. Adult women get raped. Old women get raped. Rape is not a function of clothes or the victim's choices. Men rape because men choose to rape.
