100% internet anonymity is always better than requiring us to submit real ID or selfies to governments and corporations before being allowed to use internet. We must stop the online age verification trend before it's too late. Wanting online privacy is never a threat.

If I'm a lawmaker, I'll write a bill which prohibits the mandatory dox yourself online systems the world wants to push. I'll tell my colleagues "Take my way or take the highway because the public's privacy rights are non-negotiable and shall not be restricted for any reason."

When will people learn that new mandatory online age-verification and ID systems are not intended for child safety? We need to protect the children from the dangers on the internet without sacrificing the public's right to privacy which is the most important non-negotiable right.

i warned the company about this game in february and they refused to get rid of it. now police are doing seminars on how it's a predator hot spot. the current upload has 3.4 million visits with 300 players online right now

@sleepyluna @balnkets People forgot that @DavidBaszucki claimed that predators on Roblox are seen by him not just necessarily as a problem but an opportunity as well.

@dothackaura @balnkets Yes the real issue are the parents. Roblox can’t moderate so many people, but they need to do better at deleting bad soft-condo hangout games that get a lot of visits.

@sleepyluna @balnkets The problems stem from both Roblox and parents. Roblox wouldn't improve moderation because they just want to maximize their profits and many parents are too soft who let their kids use internet unmonitored.

@iupdate iPhone is expensive. The good thing about iPhone is it lasts longer before slowing down at least. However, what I like about Android is it's easier to use especially when transferring files from PC to phone and vice-versa.

@balnkets We need Roblox to improve moderation. Age verification doesn't solve anything. Tbh, incompetent parents are also at fault for this. Roblox needs better moderation and parents need to be better parents. These aren't the silver bullet, but these are real solutions.

Roblox has added all these annoying "safety" features like age verification, age groups, chat rephrasing, chat summaries. ALL of this to make the experience **SAFER** because these governments can't shut the fuck up.. and they're not doing enough...?

this is getting ridiculous man. no, roblox is NOT "putting profits over child safety." they literally lost 20 MILLION PLAYERS after putting every possible restriction on their platform. and no, they don't allow predators to target children. they work with many law enforcement agencies such as the FBI to assist in investigations. in 2024 they submitted over 24,522 reports to the NCMEC. roblox does more for child safety than any tech company on earth and they're still getting slammed with these bogus lawsuits.

@tallcowyt It's good Roblox is finally taking action, better late than never, but due to how late said action is, they've now given several authorities (such as states to even entire governments) the impression Roblox is incompetent.

This year, Roblox has completely wrecked their platform for the sake of protecting children. Age verification, chat restrictions, ID verification, no longer making games free to publish… many highly controversial updates, all for child safety. Roblox has lost over 20 million players since these updates came out. 20 million players. It is really admirable how Roblox has made the platform SO much safer for children despite how badly its affected them. They deserve credit. And yet these lawsuits have the audacity to claim shit like “Roblox has put profits over child safety”, no Oklahoma, YOU’RE the one putting profiting off a lawsuit over child safety. Just like all the other lawsuits, it’s so obvious that the intention here is to just rob Roblox off a few million dollars. This lawsuit has nothing to do with child safety. Half the other lawsuits don’t care about child safety either. They just want money. They’re more greedy than Roblox.

Someone has to be made accountable for Bato’s escape. No less than the DILG Secretary and PNP Chief entered the senate building last night to secure the senators. I am calling for an independent and impartial investigation outside of the Senate and the government. Let us not preclude the possibility na ito ay ploy to divert the real issues. Ang totoong issue: kailangan panagutin si Sara Duterte sa pagnanakaw at dapat arestuhin si Bato Dela Rosa as a fugitive wanted by International Law.
