@figma the performance of prototypes with (heavy) variables seems to have deteriorated again. Wasn't an issue yesterday

We are shipping Shape Blend, a new way to build and interact with 3d, all in Spline.

@nikolasklein @figma 2. And this is in the browser. I understand it's an edge case and prototyping taken to extreme but it's still kinda weird

@pururin @figma They are😁 But first, it never was that bad, right now it barely works on M2 macbook. And second, back when I started working on them, they didn't lag even on my old Intel-based macbook. It just got worse over the corse of a year

@double__glitch @figma Your prototypes are pretty heavy, they don't run smooth on every computer 😅

@gleb_sexy @rogie @andrei_iancu_ @figma May it be not the position issue, but just elements being hard to find coz everything looks the same? For example in framer it's pushed around by other sections, but is still (kinda) easy to find. I understand why figma put it there though, trying to restructure it logically

This is how dynamic actions feel when using @figma UI3! 😣 Have to stop every time I don't have a keyboard shortcut or a plugin doing that to look for a specific tool... 😩 Cognitive load: it's over 9000! 📈📈📈

@double__glitch @sketch Haha, you reminded me about Photoshop. Do they still stack layers, for each app screen? Then to check them one by one by toggling visibility? Plus, exporting it. 🫣 Ah, such a nightmare. 😆

So I got curios what's up with @sketch these days, and um.... do you guys still use rectangles wrapped in groups to mimic a frame with a background??

@penpotapp guys — if you want to attract more designers and not just devs, you need more designers in your team. Including in the copywriting department. Most of the app/docs feels like it was written by devs for devs. Designers don't understand this language too well.
