Michael Shellenberger, noted climate activist and influential Leftist voice in energy, for another. After much deeper research, he wrote the bestselling Apocalypse Never as his 'apology' for having been pushing the wrong way on this issue. Steve Koonin, energy advisor to Obama, had the same trajectory and wrote the NYT bestselling Unsettled, revealing huge misinformation in the media on actual climate science, always pushing the scare-mongering. So many others are on this path. The Establishment profits from the fear they have instilled in you and your crowd. Fear-mongering is terrorism. And they have you right where they want you. More and more people are leaving that sinking ship, however, and you will too, when your 'reality' is finally revealed just as ours have been. Will see you on the other side if you can make it. It's clear you mean well. Your energies will be appreciated when directed where they belong.

@doubledee3 Yes but you are conned by the right wing press who are on a mission to mislead you. I will stick with reality. To think with each passing year the planet gets warmer and warmer and sea levels rise further we become less concerned is just weird.

We can make huge dents in fossil fuel dependency just by doing more of the easy stuff. Let’s not fret on the harder to do stuff just now. Electric transport and heat are already commercially viable, cost competitive and growing. We need to implement with speed.

@Tw_timerAlder Please indicate which misinformation Lomborg has spread. He famously uses the official, UN-accepted figures; never challenges those, much to the frustration of some climate sceptics.

@doubledee3 He doing his best to stop it with regular misinformation and that it’s better to change our climate and try to adapt than just prevent the damage. I do believe he’s failing massively though. The energy transition has only really just got started and is now accelerating.

He doesn’t want to stop it, as you would well know if interested. Neither do I. He and I both would be delighted if “clean” energy could replace fossil fuels, but the math ain’t there, apart from nuclear, which if you do your homework, you will find is the only realistic, clean alternative until something seismic happens in technology. Wind and solar are toys backed up by fossil fuels.

@doubledee3 I will look forward to it. Electricity generation will be overwhelmingly clean, iCE cars will hardly be available to buy except second hand and heating will be majority heat pump. Fossil fuel demand as a fuel to burn will be dramatically reduced. Lomborg can’t stop it.
