@cstegmaier As for term limits, I think there are good arguments both for and against them. In one of my poli sci classes, the professor mentioned research that showed term limits leading to more influence/power being exercised by staff/lobbyists in the states that have term limits.

@cstegmaier I definitely agree that infrastructure and development is a big policy issue, but I think it’s a lot easier for people to vote based on personalities or moral issues (and in politics, anything can be a moral issue if you want it to be).

In my brief foray into running for elected office, I ran on infrastructure & term limits. Didn’t focus group it. Just seemed like a good sense platform. Truth was, when we polled it, neither issue moved the primary voter needle. I’m still for it. But it’s not the red meat.

@EricC_2002 Yep, he received an honorary doctorate in public service by the Chair and Secretary of the Board. Apparently one or two people also received honorary degrees at some of the other ceremonies over the weekend.
