BREAKING:
Trump just said something nobody expected.
"$18 trillion. When I travel I make a lot of money for the country."
"Not for me. I don't care."
"I have a higher purpose."
"I have plenty of money. I don't want money."
"I want money for the country."
The man flying to Beijing with 30 of the most powerful CEOs on earth.
Jensen Huang. Tim Cook. Elon Musk. Larry Fink.
$18 trillion in deals being negotiated.
And the President says he doesn't want a dollar of it.
Love him or hate him.
No president in modern history has walked into rooms like these.
With stakes this high.
And said those words.
$18 trillion.
For the country.
Not for him.
Whether you believe it or not.
The deals are real.
And the markets will price them in.

George H.W. Bush kept his assets in a blind trust, as did Bill Clinton. Neither Obama nor Biden traded stocks or bonds while in office. 3,700 trades is probably more than all the trades of all the presidents until now. And he is trading stocks that are affected by his decisions. A walking conflict of interest, at the least, and perhaps insider trading. Just as members of Congress should not be able to trade stocks, so too the president. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@EricLDaugh A nothing burger. Over 60 court cases were filed and they were all laughed out of court.

Your tax dollars just paid a French oil company to stop building American electricity, and the gas it’s being replaced with is getting shipped overseas to Europe and Asia.
The Trump Administration is PAYING to kill projects that would have lowered your costs.
They tried to kill these projects through the courts and lost. So instead of accepting that, they wrote a billion dollar check with YOUR money, and they are trying to do it AGAIN.
I introduced an amendment to stop Trump from using your tax dollars like an ATM to keep your utility bills high.

@johnrich You do you, John! Why does it matter? It doesn’t hurt you, so maybe mind your own business? 🙄

@atrupar Xi thinks he is the Dumbest President Ever. Greet him with a red carpet and school-aged kids to make him happy. I am surprised they didn't dress them in gold. Trump talks big but is a failure in diplomacy. He is out of his league. And we will pay for it.

@OccupyDemocrats Trump’s idea of success? Flash some gold and play ‘mine is bigger than yours.’ Thanks, Mom and Dad! Real success is when the average American can actually thrive—affordable healthcare, food on the table, seniors retiring, and kids getting educated. 🤷♂️

BREAKING: MAKE IT STOP! Trump announces the location of ANOTHER wasteful vanity project and this one is an absolute doozy.
It's like watching him shovel our tax dollars into a gilded furnace...
"I am proud to announce the site of the NATIONAL GARDEN OF AMERICAN HEROES," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "This magnificent exhibition of statues will be located in West Potomac Park, which we are transforming into one of the World's most beautiful public spaces."
Trump first proposed this asinine project back in 2020, then proceeded to sign an executive order on it in the waning days of his first term. It has since laid dormant in the public discourse, only to reawaken now as Trump scrambles to create some semblance of a legacy for himself amidst a failing Iran War and devastated economy.
"Right now, it is a totally BARREN field of Prime Waterfront Real Estate along our Mighty Potomac River," Trump continued. "When finished, West Potomac Park will be a World Class Masterpiece with elegant Landscaping, and adorned with Beautiful Statues, and be yet another one of my great projects to make Washington, D.C., the Safest and Most Beautiful Capital in the World."
How many hundreds of millions of dollars will this cost us? Are we looking at another $1 billion expenditure here? More? Is there any price tag that would make Republicans balk? These are the same politicians who insist that there's no money for healthcare, childcare, or education.
"The National Garden of American Heroes will feature the MOST BEAUTIFUL collection of statues of AMERICAN HEROES, featuring our Illustrious Founding Fathers, Military Warriors, Religious Leaders, Civil Rights Champions, World Class Athletes, Artists, Entertainers, and MORE," he wrote.
It's safe to presume that these so-called "heroes" will be deranged figures that right-wingers feverishly worship rather than genuine luminaries. Prepare for a sea of racists, rapists, and war criminals as far as the eye can see.
Won't it be nice to take a stroll with your family past marble sculptures of Kid Rock, Scott Baio, and Jeffrey Epstein?
"The people of America (and the World!) will come here to learn and be inspired by the 'Greats.'" Trump added. "The National Garden of American Heroes is one more project we are undertaking to honor the 250th Birthday of the Greatest Nation on Earth, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! President DONALD J. TRUMP"
A reasonable person might ask, why is Trump focused on these pointless projects while he's losing a war and Americans go hungry?
It's because he doesn't care.
Trump was never interested in governing or improving the lives of the American people. He wanted the power and the riches. Now that it's clear that he'll leave nothing behind when he dies but ashes and human suffering, he's scrambling to erect physical altars to his own ego. He's desperately hoping that when he's long gone, Americans will look on these projects and think of him.
One is reminded of the timeless poem "Ozymandias" by Shelley—
"I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said: 'Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."
Trump, monstrous and awful though he may be, is not a unique figure in world history. The dust-flecked annals of our species are teeming with egomaniacal men who thought only of themselves and their personal image. In the end, they are forgotten by most or reviled by all.
Please ❤️ and share if you oppose Trump's vanity projects!

@TheJFreakinC Fake news’ and ‘stupid journalist’ are just code for ‘you asked a tough question and hit a nerve.’ Keep it up! We need those tough questions—you’re all we’ve got left for checks and balances, since the Republican

🚨BREAKING: The President of the United States just accused a journalist of “treason” for reporting facts he didn’t like.
Not for leaking classified information… like Trump has been accused of doing… or helping an enemy nation, or committing an actual crime.
For reporting facts.
This is the same authoritarian playbook we’ve watched throughout history… attack the press, call journalists “enemies,” then label criticism as a crime.
And no, Mr. “I love the Constitution…” criticism of a president is not treason.
Unless you are an authoritarian.

@MikeJohnson I think he is in the closet or in a 12 step porn therapy. That is one weird guy. He and his son monitor each others computer to make sure they are not watching porn. He sums up the republican party
English

@RpsAgainstTrump Classic entitlement talk! This guy’s never set foot in a grocery store—thought ‘groceries’ was a new word. Never pumped gas or struggled to pay a mortgage. But hey, he sure knows how to grift and fleece Americans! 🙄
English

Unbelievable. Trump was asked about saying, “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation,” and instead of apologizing, he called it a “perfect statement, I’d make it again,” adding that “everyone agrees that it’s a short-term pain, but the pain is much less than people thought.”
The president of the United States doesn’t give a shit about the well-being of ordinary Americans.
He never has.
And now he doesn’t even try to hide it.
November is going to be brutal for the GOP.
