@Elsycee9 @DrJoeBoot This is pretty orthodox christianity, I'm actually shocked how common it is now to change the key part of our faith.. the bible describes love as the 1st and 2nd most important commandment ...( Love your God... love your neighbour as yourself)..without it just clashing cumbals

@doughoop @DrJoeBoot Love is, but God's love demands boundaries, corrective disciple, and His Wrath. He loves us enough to show us exactly Who He is and what He desires of and for us. Don't take advantage of the grace of God!

Much of the church has reduced the gospel to "God loves you & has a plan for your life." Whilst this is true, it is not the gospel. You can read the apostolic preaching in the book of Acts & not once do they say "God loves you." The word "love" does appear in Acts. They preach repentance, sin, the Lordship of Christ, the judgment of God & faith in Christ. The modern church needs to realign its message with scripture.

@Elsycee9 @DrJoeBoot That's not what the bible says ...nothing can separate us from the love of God...everyone who has loved has been born of love and knows God, whoever does not love does not know God. God is love..... It is key to everything Sometimes it's like I'm reading a different bible

With @plymouth_pride taking place on Sat we want to celebrate the wonderful & diverse community that is Plymouth. We believe that your gender or sexual orientation shouldn't determine the care you receive at the end of your life. Our care is open to all. bit.ly/44JS0IF

@Existential_Doc @AllyMedic 🤣 If you're musical, dexmedetomidine is in 4/4 time (crotchet, 4 quavers, crotchet; with the strong beat on the 1st crotchet) Clonidine is 3/4 time, hence more lilting Apologies if rambling nonsense; in hospital with ?ACS (though my moneys on LMF [lack of moral fibre])

@ProfMarkTaubert I like the recognition that ' you're not as robust as you once were' described earlier..seems kinder and helps the patient recognise and reflect...I'm not sure if there is a score.. a robustnesslty score?

🤔Frailty is a word used frequently in the NHS, but many of my patients are not very keen on it. And i understand that, not sure I would want to be called frail myself...even if i was frail. Are there better words to describe a similar meaning?

Q: How do you trick the population into believing that asylum seekers are becoming a bigger and bigger issue? A: Stop processing asylum applications. Cynical? That's exactly what the Tories did. The % of asylum applications completed within 6 months fell from 80%+ to ~10%.

@bennoivory I agree, I'm a palliative medicine consultant I'm constantly humbled by what my GP colleagues have to cope with, 8 minute consultations, managing risk, living with uncertainty, with secondary and social care imploding and the government/media constantly gaslighting them

I’m an ICU consultant. Working in general practice would scare the hell out of me. Dozens of risk management calls daily, based on the info from a 10 min consultation requires enormous clinical acumen. All with a government and press determined to belittle. Hats off to you all.

UK Commission on Bereavement
Today we’re launching our landmark report - Bereavement is Everyone’s Business. We know that many children and adults don’t get adequate support after the death of a loved one. Today’s report sets out the changes needed to improve support across the UK. bit.ly/3ykodbr

@drkathrynmannix @drol007 @WaitingRoomRev Great to see this report and really good to see the evidence of the benefit of ESC is being replicated across so many of the enhanced supportive care services in the UK. In Plymouth it looks like we have similar savings with some great feedback from patients

So, what do people need? We've identified 5 things... Firstly, their electronic end-of-life record needs to: 1️⃣ Communicate people’s health information and end-of-life wishes seamlessly across care settings. 2️⃣ Travel between geographical boundaries.

It's a great start that we have the new Palliative and End of Life Care Information Standard from @ProfRecordSB but we now need to look carefully at how this is embedded and electronic end of life records are commissioned at ICS level.
