@douglaslwhite @MagnusSav Dude there are always more stars from each draft outside the top 3. Haliburton went outside the top 10. Ke”le Ware went late first. SGA, etc.

I’m lowest on Kingston Flemings out of the 4 pgs. The Kings desperately need a star and I don’t think he has that potential

@MattGeorgeSAC You don't trade up for 5. You take what is left. If you trade up you have to go Top 4 and you don't take a PG.

I absolutely HATE the idea of the Kings trading down, because I don't trust them to get it right. Take the best talent available at 7, or try to move up to 5. Those are the plays on draft night.

@BropeJim @BrendenNunesNBA Yes, but so do a lot of other teams that fall short every year. Candidly, getting the Kings to 3rd in the West was a bigger accomplishment (that Kings ownership quickly forgot) than the Knicks getting to the Eastern Conference Finals.

@BornKing916 @douglaslwhite @The_StilesFiles Flemings has a better wingspan and showed a willingness to defend that Acuff hasn’t. He’s good at the point of attack which is so important. You don’t usually go from not great to really good at POA. that said, I wouldn’t be mad if it was Acuff 🤷🏾‍♂️

@KingKC_916 Why? You will have to explain the logic of having Acuff Jr. and Ja on the same team, at the same time. If the Kings drafted Wagler I could see it, but Ja and Acuff Jr.? Really?

Also…for those interested, this might leave the door open for Ja to still be traded to Sacramento.

@KyleAMadson I'm so glad the young guys enjoyed themselves and had fun. Thanks to Coach Christie for making sure the kids had fun and enjoyed being around each other while being the worst team in the league for 3/4ths of the season and a 22 win season.

@Mason_King2 @EricSperlazza13 That's correct. The challenge is the draft will be very unpredictable. How are bad teams like the Kings suppose to improve in the future? Draft is completely random and punitive, no free agents without overpays and nothing of value to trade. 🤷‍♂️

@douglaslwhite @EricSperlazza13 I don’t know I ran through a probability calculator and it was very unlikely for the results to have fallen the way they have for us over the last 20 years. I don’t think unethical tanking will matter anymore with this model Silver is trying to push through

The only thing I really dislike about the Kings falling to 7th (other than the obvious) is that I really like Kingston Flemings for almost every other team in the lottery other than Sacramento

@Sacphil08 @The_StilesFiles The tough part is the Kings only get whoever is leftover of Wagler, Flemings and Acuff Jr. They don't get to pick their guy as much as they just get whoever is left over.

@douglaslwhite @The_StilesFiles It’s tough because he reminds me a lot of when Dame came out and he obviously turned out. But we are starting from scratch basically so we just have to truly go BPA. if they work out, it’ll come down to that IMO

For what it’s worth, I’ve already seen two mocks predicting Acuff to the Kings at 7th. I would have taken him as early as 3rd if it was me.

@CarmichaelDave 💯 I'm terrified the Kings give up future draft compensation to move up 1 or 2 spots to draft Acuff Jr.

If, at 7, we ended up with Keaton Wagler or Kingston Flemings I’d be very happy.

@Mason_King2 @EricSperlazza13 I agree that Hali is a better point guard. I'm just saying this was the only trade available to maximize the Kings. The Kings don't have a direction and are at the very beginning of a rebuild. If you can't draft Batman-at least draft the best Robin possible.

@douglaslwhite @EricSperlazza13 I agree 100%, but you can’t get me to back off the Hali train. He runs the point a lot better than Fox does. Better passer, better shooter. I don’t really know the direction of this team anymore. Hoping for Wagler or Flemings, but I doubt they can be the star we need
