I also touch on Horizon's successor, FP10. Collaborations are complex and long-term: the more confident researchers and innovators on both sides of the Channel can be that the UK will sign up to FP10, the better placed UK institutions will be to make the most of Horizon now. 3/3

Our immigration policy doesn’t exist to prop up our university sector (which ranges from excellent to mediocre). As @NeilDotObrien has shown, the graduate visa route often leads into low paid work, not high-skilled jobs. A litmus test of seriousness about cutting immigration
