There is no worker or industry that AI and new tech don’t or won’t touch. Every job is now a technology job. At the Workers First AI Summit, working people came together to chart a path forward for an AI future that respects workers’ rights and protects our jobs and freedoms.

Technology should make work better, not worse. That's why we helped develop the @AFLCIO’s Workers First Initiative on AI—principles to ensure AI benefits everyone, not just tech billionaires. Working people deserve a voice in the future of work: aflcio.org/2025/10/15/afl…

I held my breath as I opened my Google alerts this morning. Then I exhaled when I saw @PublishersWkly 's starred review for "#JoyGoddess: A'Lelia Walker and the Harlem Renaissance." I'm just going to float through the day thinking about this big red star. The hard work paid off.

Medicare For All is a centrist, common sense solution to our unaffordable sick care disaster. With 26mm uninsured, 90mm underinsured, the highest prices in the world, and mid-pack outcomes - we should be embarrassed. We ensure public education for all and must ensure health coverage for all. Period.

@deanbphillips You have been a member of Congress since ‘19. It’s almost 2024, & today decide to become a co-sponsor of #MedicareForAll. I wonder why? 🤔 If there are policies you truly believe in, why wait until you’re heading out the door or running for President to champion them?

@douglasritz @deanbphillips @AndrewYang The bigger question is how can we afford NOT have a national health insurance program. We've found the $$$ to fund every war and keep the economy's lights on during a pandemic -- we can Afford to make investments in our people.

@deanbphillips @AndrewYang “It’s time for Medicare for All.” It’s a lovely idea, but the major issue is that the American population is terribly unhealthy and I don’t know where the money will come from.

It’s time for Medicare for All. Today, I am officially signing on to HR 3421: The Medicare for All Act of 2023, originally proposed to Congress by Representatives Pramila Jayapal, Debbie Dingell, and Senator Bernie Sanders.

@lxeagle17 I've watched Dean evolve on healthcare since 2019. He's sincere. It comes from a steady skepticism of the for-profit model, along with a drum-beat of increasingly progressive co-sponsorships over years. Anyone surprised hasn't followed his career before his presidential bid.

For anyone bored enough to keep track, Dean Phillips has now come out in favor of a balanced budget requirement and Medicare for All in quick succession while calling Joe Biden a threat to democracy. An incoherent campaign for a very unserious candidate.

@PalimenoForGAD1 @deanbphillips I've watched Dean evolve from an ACA supporting Dem to this moment. He's sincere in his position and resolute in the need for a national public health insurance program, and has been calling for one since the Spring, long before he was recruited to run for president.

@deanbphillips I have been calling this for weeks, Dean would try to act like a progressive even though the WHOLE entire time in Congress he OPPOSED universal healthcare and refused to co-sponsor this bill. This is a grift to try to get progressive who Dean believes are angry at Biden—I’m not

Was an honor working with @evandhollander, and witnessing @RepUnderwood, @RepJoeNeguse and @RepEscobar in action. Dean has always preached the need for a new generation of leaders in our politics. The collective brain power in that room is proof the concept is sound.
Rep. Dean Phillips 🇺🇸@RepDeanPhillips

I have decided to step down from the DPCC & Democratic Caucus leadership. While politics & official work do not mix, it’s clear my convictions about 2024 are incongruent with the position of my colleagues & that was causing discomfort. I was not pressured or forced to resign. 1/2

It is undemocratic, unpatriotic, and a dereliction of duty for the Speaker of the House to prevent a vote on a bipartisan solution approved by 3/4 of the Senate when 3/4 of the House is standing at the ready to prevent an expensive and painful shutdown. Absurd and inexcusable.
Chad Pergram@ChadPergram

McCarthy says he won’t allow the House to consider the Senate’s stopgap spending bill to avert a gov’t shutdown for 45 days. 77 bipartisan senators supported the package on a test vote last night
