The @nswpolice have launched "Polair Remote" - a drone based aerial surveillance system launched today in regional NSW and piloted from Bankstown. The NSW Government have chosen the Chinese owned DJI brand of drone raising concerns about surveillance, privacy and network access. DJI has previously been designated as a "Chinese Military Company" and sanctioned by the United States government.

Great to have City Square back in the centre of Melbourne now that @metrotunnelvic is open.
But so far looks like planners have missed an opportunity to activate the square.
The building at the south end is a ‘Melbourne Visitor Pod’. Not terrible, but also not a huge draw.

Doesn’t the power to remedy a breach of the PGPA Act sit with the responsible (finance) minister under s30 of the Act? 🤔 Shocking the ANU isn’t being investigated for potential breaches of the PGPA Act.

I'm not sure Australia's population is particularly concentrated in Sydney and Melbourne. Australia feels concentrated because we're such a geographically big country, but we're only 70th percentile of similar countries.

That is a strange way to compare, don't you think? Australia's population is much more concentrated: a full two-fifths of the entire population live in Sydney or Melbourne. The US is much more dispersed. If you created a bar chart for % of population in each city, Aus would have two extremely tall bars for Syd and Melb, then a few stumpy bars; the US would have a more uniform distribution across more cities.
