today thre were heavy rains (amid floods in nearby villages) and tonight’s blackout with the moonlight just reminded me of that night (except for the neighbors’ generator noise 😜). And electricity just came back 😃. GN .

The stillness of those blackout nights reminded me of the quiet evenings of the ’80s &’90s,when noise pollution was rare. Back then,silence was filled with subtler sounds(the ticking of a clock, the croaking of frogs) &the peace of being alone (while everyone else at home slept).

From the 7th to the 10th May 2025, we experienced blackout nights. Despite the darkness, the moon shone brightly and the stars were vivid. Every few minutes, I would quietly walk to the windows—staying concealed behind thick curtains—to scan the skies for possible drone activity.

Adding a few more reflections today within landmark distinctions : the nights back then were completely silent (except for the unsettling sounds of drone blasts around 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.). It felt like being in a void—nothingness. space of nothingness. Silence.
