Today marks Women's Equality Day, which commemorates the day women were given the right to vote. While women can vote now, the struggle for gender equality continues across so many fronts: reproductive justice, trans rights, the wage gap, and so many more. We have so much to celebrate, but so much to fight for.

Diabetes affects everyone regardless of gender, race, religion, income, ethnicity, status or occupation. So, there should be no excuse why some patients diagnosed with diabetes have access to health resources, while others have limited to no access. This must change!

Black and Brown folks deserve the same level of care that is received by their white counterparts! Diabetes shouldn't be taking the livelihoods of our communities—these things are preventable.

Every year, the rising heat fosters more intense fires that are getting harder to contain. Breathing in wildfire smoke can cause problems such as bronchitis, aggravated asthma, heart attack and stroke. These are clear signs of the impact of #climatechange, and we have to act NOW.

No one chooses to be homeless—experiencing homelessness doesn't make an individual lazy, unwilling, or less deserving of housing. 👉 1 in 2 unhoused people in Los Angeles were recently employed. 👉 Thousands of unhoused people in California currently work part- or full-time jobs.
