Major DUH moment. So, for a couple months I've been trying to build a Steam deck version of Twisted Tower that runs at a stable 40-60. I've been banging my head against a wall. You wanna know what I was doing wrong? I was building a Windows version. This apparently uses some kind of wrapper or something. Causes major hitching and frame drops. I built a Linux version and it runs at 60 - 90 fps! WHEW. That said, I do have to disable Realtime Shadows. I think that's just going to be the way it is for an indie game like this one

I finally finished the game-optimized version of NILE for my indie game. It took a long time since he consists of a lot of parts. Now it's just texturing and rigging left until I can bring him to life with ANIMATION for the teaser! :) #b3d #indiedev #gamedev #solodev #ue5
