Visiting annas-archive from a library feels super wrong. Let me just fire up my VPN real quick to hide my shame :|

Hey friends, got any recommendations for small, hungry pen testing orgs? I need to help an angel stage start up get code assisted testing without breaking the bank.

@patcable Some rando ssh'd into my desktop and spent 8 hours helping me finish my first Gentoo install. I'm sure just getting access/routed to my box was a feat of patience to begin with.

@copyconstruct I wasn't immediately cured of self doubt, but the event went a long way towards calming me down and teaching me that everyone (and every system) was both fallible and fragile. 5/5

@copyconstruct The big impact for me was that up until that point I had considered my CTO as some bullet proof rockstar hacker (it was 2005, pardon my terms). I had also considered myself some overly lucky junior who didn't belong (I hadn't heard of imposter syndrome at that point) 4/x

What’s the most memorable outage you’ve ever been a part of? It could be “memorable” for a number of reasons - customer impact, you learned some important lesson, data loss, catastrophic failure, led to some profound realization, made you quit your job, changed culture etc.

@jenistyping Someone needs to do a case study and share it with the world when you do.. Early Lever was a major eye opener about the importance of culture and teams in enabling work.

Is there a way to search for a tweet that went by in my timeline but wasn't from someone I directly follow? Twitter allows me to search "followed" or "everyone" but that's not cutting it. Otherwise can someone link me to the thread about friendships being transactional?

Everyone might know this already, but if you're like me you'd want to know that Princess Mononoke is playing at literally every AMC theater tonight. Apparently they've been doing Ghibli fest all year but I'm stoked to have caught it in time to see PM on the big screen

@seldo As with a significant amount of phrases: I wouldn't say I definitively know it, but I certainly have picked up where it fits contextually. I would answer "no" in a poll (because a poll feels like a formal context) but still understand you in conversation.

@sadserver Being a repo host is the least important aspect of GitHub. We're concerned about who owns the view/search/communication tools that aren't: a) decentralized, b) part of Git or c) open source.

@patcable Know of any good tools for reviewing pastes/logs/etc for secrets? I fondly recall the time I almost put some root-level AWS keys into a public support ticket because of a tool that dumped `env` into its debug log.
