Brent is $106 and markets are in full panic mode. They were slow to price the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz, but at this point the Strait isn't going to get any more closed. If anything, it'll get more open, so I wouldn't chase this spike... robinjbrooks.substack.com/p/the-blockade…
🚨Iran FM Araghchi: Tehran not seeking ceasefire or talks with U.S. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran is not requesting a ceasefire and sees no reason to negotiate with Washington, noting that the U.S. attacked during the previous two negotiations. ➤ The FM said Iran had no intention to strike the U.S. homeland, noting American forces already have extensive bases in the region. ➤ The Strait of Hormuz remains open, he said, even tanker traffic has dropped sharply; Tehran says closure is not planned but “all scenarios” remain possible if the war continues. ➤ Araghchi also said no backchannel talks with U.S. officials are currently underway.
