What a tremendously fun night with wonderful people for a great cause. Can’t thank my dance partner Christy Barnard enough for her amazing patience and expertise. Hire her for all ballroom dancing needs!! To all who donated to this great charity, @LungAssociation -thank you!!! So glad the best family and friends got to join me at the gala. I’ll thankfully never have to wear an animal print vest, fedora and dance shoes ever again.

Brian Daboll on what makes a good coach: "You gotta be able to teach. You gotta be a really good communicator, you gotta be a relationship builder. At the end of the day, players don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

@JPFinlayNBCS @BMITCHLIVE30 Every coordinator called plays for the first time. It's the mentoring around them that eases the transition. The Commanders have plenty of experience to help.

I asked @BMITCHLIVE30 if he'd worry if Washington has two 1st-time coordinators: "We put this pressure on a coordinator that's never called the plays. But there are guys that have called plays for 10 years and they suck...Guys need a chance sometime."

Dr. Jennifer Albert is the Director of The STEM Center of Excellence at The Citadel and the Program Coordinator for M.Ed. in Interdisciplinary STEM Education. She received her Ph.D. in Science Education from North Carolina State University and has an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from Austin Peay State University. Can you share a bit about your professional background and what led you to teach at The Citadel? I started my career teaching high school science (life science, physical science and chemistry) in Tennessee. I had the opportunity to go back to school to earn my Ph.D. in science education at N.C. State University. While working on my Ph.D., I helped with a number of research grants and worked for a bit with the Science House doing STEM outreach. These experiences helped me to understand that I didn’t want a traditional faculty position. I chose The Citadel because I grew up next to Fort Bragg and my father and grandfather were both in the Army, so I was quite familiar with the military aspects. The Citadel also gave me the opportunity to be part of the Zucker Family School of Education, working with our amazing students, faculty and staff, but also to direct the STEM Center and collaborate across campus, throughout S.C., and nationally. It has been the perfect fit! What do you enjoy most about working with students in the School of Education? Our students in the ZFSOE are amazing! Our cadets and veteran day students have an enhanced understanding of leadership and collaboration because of the military environment they operate in. This allows them to hit the ground running in schools in many ways that their peers at other institutions cannot and ultimately makes them amazing teachers. Our graduate students often select The Citadel because they are seeking a personalized experience. Our class sizes are small, so we get to know our students really well and often form bonds that last well beyond graduation. What do you find most rewarding about your field of study or your teaching experience? When my students and former students are happy and successful, I am happy. I love when former students reach out to say they were able to move into a new position they wanted or that they are starting a family or that they want to return to The Citadel for a master’s. I also love visiting schools and working with teachers that have attended professional development projects using (and often improving upon) tools and pedagogies from the workshop.

When @CitadelFootball HC Maurice Drayton started speaking about his childhood dog Hannibal & meat on the bone, I quickly thought about his former mentor at Coastal-David Bennett 14 years after his "cats & dogs" fame. I texted him. We chatted. He now lives with a cat he's "friendly" with. He's still a dog guy. He loves Mo Drayton. The fun "press conference pets" story.

@CoachCoax17 @CitadelFootball Can’t put a number on how much these coaches genuinely care for their players either. They are top notch people building young men on and off the field.
