A momentous milestone was achieved as we successfully hosted the Dissemination Event for the Sashakt Gaon, Viksit Rashtra initiative, a pilot intervention designed to strengthen Village Health, #Sanitation, and #Nutrition Committees (VHSNCs) in #Bahraich district. The dissemination event served as a learning sharing platform where the VHSNC members from intervention blocks joined the platform to share the stories of change followed by the perspectives of health officials on the intervention. The intervention successfully empowered VHSNCs to take ownership of decentralized health planning, improved fund utilization, and monitor health services effectively. The Hub & Spoke Model proved to be a sustainable approach, enhancing VHSNC functionality through mentorship and structured capacity building. Furthermore, to the success of the intervention, Health officials (State and District NHM) emphasized the need to scale up this intervention across the entire district and other Aspirational Districts, given its success in improving community participation, health outcomes, and coordination with health facilities. The model has demonstrated its potential to reinforce NHM’s policies at the grassroots level, ensuring better service delivery and governance. Scaling this intervention will bring us closer to ensuring equitable and accessible healthcare for all! Stakeholders' Meet to localize the Adaptive Capacity Assessment Tool under Climate Health Vulnerability Assessment in Uttar Pradesh was organized by @MamtaHIMC with the support of the @WorldBank in Lucknow today. Several relevant stakeholders, including government departments, organisations and individuals, participated in the lively deliberations. With insights from 30+ representatives from the Institutions from Health, Environment, Urban & Rural Development, Disaster Management, Meteorology, Academia, and International Organizations, the consultation fostered discussions on the building blocks of health system includes- Governance & Leadership, Financing, Data & IT, and Service Delivery. Key representative, including Director General of Medical Health, NHM-UP, Panchayti Raj Institution, Pollution Control Board, KGMU, IMD, UPSDMA, UPTSU, @UNICEFIndia , @WHO , @UNDPClimate , @PiramalFdn , Health Online Parameter Evaluation (HOPE), @PATHtweets , and @Jhpiego , contributed with the sharing the learnings of the health system needs to capture to assess the health system resilience for climate and health in state context. Empowering women with #contraceptive choices strengthens families and communities. This was the insight shared by Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, Director-Family Welfare, Directorate, UP in the Interactive Symposium on Climate Resilience for Maternal and Preconception Care organised by Mamta Health Institute for Mother and Child in #Lucknow and supported by HCL Foundation. She further elaborated that Family planning plays a critical role in building #climate resilience.
