East Legon Businessman Arrested Over Alleged Drugging, Sexual Assault, and Online Sharing of Intimate Videos The Cybercrime Unit of the Ghana Police Service's Criminal Investigations Department (CID), in a joint operation with the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), has arrested Joshua Kojo Anane Boateng, CEO of SOJAfrican clothing, over allegations of drugging women, sexually assaulting them, secretly recording the encounters, and circulating the footage online without the victims consent. The 36-year-old suspect, a resident of East Legon in Accra, was picked up on May 6, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation. Briefing journalists in Accra on Tuesday, May 12, the CID Director-General, Commissioner of Police Lydia Yaako Donkor, said preliminary investigations indicate that Boateng ran a Telegram channel called "VIP Sleep Fetish 2025," where the explicit material was allegedly shared. According to COP Donkor, the suspect is believed to have used alprazolam commonly known as Xanax to sedate unsuspecting women before assaulting them and recording the acts. Investigators say he frequented nightclubs, where he allegedly identified and targeted his victims before drugging them and distributing the resulting footage online. During the arrest, officers retrieved two iPhones, a feature phone, a memory card, a Seagate external hard drive, a MacBook laptop, an iSafe device, and empty sachets suspected to have contained alprazolam and midazolam. The electronic devices have been secured for forensic analysis, while the sachets have been forwarded to the Food and Drugs Authority for examination. The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to tackling cyber-enabled sexual exploitation and abuse, and is urging the public to report related cases through the appropriate channels.
