BREAKING: Somalia expects all Ethiopian troops to leave Somalia by the end of December 2024, Somalia’s National Security Advisor @XuseenMacallin said, Friday. According to @XuseenMacallin, Ethiopian troops will not be part of the AU-led forces that will operate in the country once @ATMIS_Somalia mission ends by this December. Somalia is negotiating with international partners on having multinational forces that will operate in Somalia for one year from January 2025.
Our position on ENDF's role in the post-ATMIS mission is unequivocal. As long as Ethiopia persists in violating our sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence, we cannot and will not consider it an ally in advancing peace and security in the region.
