Caverns originally used a Bunker door as a placeholder before the cool doors with the 12 pivoting panels were made. According to developer Duncan Botwood it was @drdoak who got them working. 🚪

This is the absolute final sequence I put together using Rob Harrison’s editor. By this point, I had mastered the tool and knew exactly how to trigger the various elements, making the process much easier. However, space limitations meant I couldn’t add many extra animations for the characters, so I had to work with what I had—though I did sneak in a few additional ones. My initial idea was to make the celebration feel huge—much bigger than the original one that Wizpig crashed. So, I envisioned a fun “Donkey Conga” where the characters would come together in a conga-line formation, dancing joyfully. For extra fun, I created some animations for Tricky and even made two smaller versions of him in different colors. I had them sticking out their legs, mimicking the elephant dance from The Jungle Book. I was inspired by so many things and wanted to add all these little touches to make the sequence truly special and fun. I really went all in with this last sequence, pouring my creativity into every little detail. So - after playing the game on my twitch channel for two consecutive years, I finally manage to beat Wizpig (myself) at this incredible game that we all worked so hard to produce back in the 90's at Rare Ltd. A lot of late nights, in a hot, sweaty barn during a heatwave. But totally worth it. We were a new team and this was our first N64 project together so exploring it's 'Nintendo Power' was very exciting. It was also a brand new adventure for us all, as it was the first time we had moved on from 2D to 3D (Actual 3D - not pre-rendered) games on this fantastic console, during what can only be described as a golden era in video gaming. So proud to have been a part of it all back then! Diddy was probably my least favourite creation until we were asked to put him into Diddy Kong Racing and replace Timber as the original protagonist. I didn't really want to do it, but when we put the logo on that title page together with the sequence and other characters I'd created, it all fell into place.
