@untitled_ave I don't understand why gambs is doing this, he stopped reading VNs 3 years ago according to his vndb. He also clearly knows japanese, but thinks that AI is better than official translators...

Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ (A Review) / The only thing anachronistic is anachronism itself. Familiar cycles—love and hate—truth and lie irregardless—recur endlessly within contentions of Mercury and Gold, shrivelled and quiet, looming within cracks of what’s to-be, awaiting their time to enter stage. Every character and prop have their part to play—their narrative to spell. At the end, all entities become absolved and vindicated. Dies irae is History attempting to understand itself through every weight, shade, and direction it ever interacted with. Momentarily—for an eternity and some change, It becomes these things, forgetting Its divine nature. The stories weigh heavy; the trenches and tears cumbersome. Our feet eventually feel what’s swept under the rug, the curtains are at some point undrawn. A new world readily emerges in order to challenge the olden order. The finality of the Grand Guignol impends. The people we loved, outcomes we hated, memories we cherished, and stories we forged, when most climactic and precarious, directly resonate within our breasts—heat most priceless, for ‘tis the conflagration of life. All phantasms snap shut one day. The infinite narratives, in manners most trite and cliché, ultimately emerge as one. Resolutely and with no room for compromise, History quietly becomes His Story. The Hero’s Journey is all that exists. All artifacts manfully trumpet towards Valhalla, wearing boots and uniforms most prideful and lustrous. Everything reconciles itself, only to forget, all to repeat it once again. For what good are stories with conclusions foreknown? The mysteries are important, the ordeals—ingredients to finer days. Humans live in the real world. Eternity eludes us but its shadows don’t; Continue to writhe and wrinkle, in ephemeral hurrahs, until you realize who’s shoes you’re wearing, and who’s story you’re telling. / 10+ - #1 Artwork With #1 Moment, #1 “Arc” / Stretch / Segment, & #1 Character As Well. / All in all, an experience of a lifetime. I don’t love the term “life-changing”, but were an artwork to fit that bill for me: let it be this one.

@jeremykauffman Sure but 5th point is just inaccurate. While WE was uniquely positioned to launch techno-capital, it’s curently suffocating it and therefore doomed to fail. For Land, it is East Asia that is the most (as of now) compatible with acceleration

Let me try to explain Nick Land: 1) Intelligence proliferates because it works. It wins. Not just intelligence of individuals, but of systems. 2) Capitalism, technology, and their fusion are an intelligent system. More intelligent than any person. 3) Western Europeans, in addition to being intelligent, have dispositions that allow the techno-capital machine to run. 4) Ascendence of the techno-capital machine is inevitable. Only societies that embrace it will survive. 5) Western European culture is the most compatible with techno-capital acceleration, making it poised for dominance. 6) Smart individuals, Jewish, Asian, or other, have contributions that make to the machine. A system that can select for and integrate them will outcompete one that doesn't. This should also explain why Land doesn't like the Groypers.

@14JUN1995 "order and connection" is itself an ideal structure. Yes, the real and the ideal here are one, but this is just Schelling and Hegel being good spinozists. Why is the later German Idealist tradition idealist and Deleuze is not?

Deleuze is obviously not an idealist, because he affirms Spinoza in “The order and connection of ideas is the same as the order and connection of things.”. Which is of course the most anti-idealist thing there is.

@JorgeRogeli @XENOGOTH This picture should be forgotten already. Such a dumb satirical caricature… Land literally criticises Yarvin for drifting towards this “one man all power” model lmfao and stability was never Land’s ultimate goal

@vampiremarxist Woods’ description is pretty accurate actually, regarding early Marxism. Marx literally describes England as the unconscious tool of history in India and Engels defended the U.S. seizure of Texas and California from "the lazy Mexicans". You’re just a dishonest person

@luscofusch Good point, strange world. For the record: From the late 80s, Nozick disregarded this book, naming it an "accident". Rather, he proposed "social ties" as important (1993 book). He started out as a socialist in the 50s, so "Nozickean" is not libertarianism: web.archive.org/web/2023042501…

The only problem I had with this book is that, every time I taught it, students started to think I was a Nozickean rather than someone simply presenting the arguments in their most compelling form. That never happens with any other author/book. I wonder why...
